    I can’t see Palmer being dropped. Benson possibly as he hasn’t been as consistent as romal.

    We had Ugbo on loan also highly rated by Chelsea and at the time he was pretty dire. That’s. Not to say Gomes will be I hope he’s fantastic but who knows if he’s ready yet to play ‘proper football’.

    I appreciate what you're saying, but besides 20 games in the Dutch second division (not sure what the standard is like considering PSV have their reserve side in there), he's barely played any senior football. We once had a young loanee regarded as the 'best midfielder of his age group'. He didn't do so well. There's a big difference between under-23s and senior football.

    I'm not criticising the signing by the way - we needed another midfielder and I hope he lives up to what we've heard about him. My comment was more about it being harsh on Romal, who for me has been one of our best players so far this season, in that he's suddenly being regarded as an understudy to somebody that we've never seen play.

    Palmer has been good so far, albeit with a drop off in the second half but on Saturday he was pretty poor all game.
