Seven years training for that as well. Who'll look after the nation's livestock now? Pets are in for a hard time...
To further inform the debate I emailed the Head of Communications at the hospital concerned and asked if it was true that visiting soldiers were not allowed to wear unforms and if they had a policy on such matters. This was the reply: It is not true. In fact there are a lot of untruths in the Sunday Times piece you are referring to. There is a huge number of staff, visitors, and patients who proudly wear their uniforms around the Trust – army, navy, airforce, and others. There never has been, and never will be a policy, not to allow military uniforms to be worn in our hospitals. I hope this is helpful. Regards Fiona Alexander Director of Communications Trust Headquarters Shame the Sunday Times couldn't take 5 minutes to check a fact but I am not surprised. There again I guess you might prefer to believe the hack journalist rather than her (or me for that matter!!)
Are you in a hurry today?
It usually takes you at least three posts to completely change the subject to an attack on our government.

Not exactly true As has been pointed out by others in this forum the Hospital in Question is Selly Oak Hospital which in fact houses the The Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. I quote from that page that "The military staff wear their own distinctive uniforms that vary depending on whether they are serving with the Navy, Army, or Air Force (although some wear a generic green uniform, with rank insignia, depending on the area in which they work). Whilst the RCDM is based at Selly Oak Hospital , defence personnel are fully integrated throughout both sites and treat both military and civilian patients.". Of course, you can choose to believe what the papers say if it backs up your beliefs or you can choose to find out yourself, personally I never fully believe anything written in a newspaper and the larger the type its written in the less I believe.
Not actually something high on the UK militaries wish list If they had that sort of money they'd prefer tospend it on equipment and better housing for personnel.
Apparently as long as soldiers get privacy andspecial conditions in NHS hospitals then that's acceptable for the military. Aparently the soldiers would prefer the option to be close to family and firends in an NHS hospital rather than miles away in a specialist military unit. Alsothe level of specialism in the NHS and broader experience of the doctorsdealing with many conditions means they are more likely to get a better quality of treatment for a broader range of conditions.
I have heard that the US military train all their battlefield surgeons in civilain hospitals. Mind you there are hospitals in New York where they cantreatenough gunshot wounds to give them a reasonable experience of what it would be like to be deployed in a field hospital during a sustained conflict.

I didnt generalise - I made a statement about a newspaper atricle. You've gone to an awful amount of trouble trying to be proved right.... fair enough..... but lighten up - you've got too much hate inside you
The larger the type, the less you believe? You wouldn't like those publications for the partially sighted. They must be a right load of lying gets!
chortle. Do I need to spit biscuits at my computer to be in the Hartog Set? I've got nothing in my inbox and I even drew a **** once. If TFP and Dillinger have had a civil ceremony and are now loving franticly in San Francisco, we deserve to know.
Don't get me started on the blind. Braille is 100% made up. Bumps = words! Whatever next - words being sent down metal wires and steam engines going into outer space. I'll eat my top hat sir!
RE: I've made a comment. I did acknowledge your "some muslim somewhere" comment. The rest was just your usual obsession. Suppose you must think that comment was good enough in itself. Like I said - in depth analysis. You sore cos I was right by any chance?
LOL yeah that's it.
I'm "sore" cos you were right Hank.
What am I doing conversing with thepillock who thinks Davey is half way to the sack because we lost away to Wednesday? I need my head looking at.
