An interesting thread with many reasonable arguments. I personally don't think sacking Johnson right now would do the club any favours and don't think he's solely to blame for the dreadful recruitment policy in the last six months. However, equally I have very little faith that January will see a marked improvement in the quality of our signings. A club stuck in the bottom four of League One with a young squad lacking in confidence won't be be a great attraction for many and I doubt there'll be many queuing up to sign on. I'm not convinced we offer anything that cracking in terms of wages to attract more experienced players either. Dyson is probably right, they'll look to do one or two deals with current loanees and possibly bring in one or two and just look to survive this season. Then the summer becomes huge in terms of adding more quality. Risky though, as we may by then be in League Two...

Some of you don't seem to understand, or flatly refuse to get it into their thick heads. Changing manager isn't the solution. So a new one can get his own players in, I've seen written. He's getting the same ***** players that LJ has been given. The manager isnt the problem. The idiots above him most certainly are.

I wouldnt trust johnson with the loose change in my pocket let alone a transfer budget.....to spend it wisely.....his opinion of the players ability leave a lot to be desired .....next time any one attends a meeting with the club ask them about the ins and outs of a certain arsenal loanee, who johnson said would tear this division a new ar5e hole....and the amount the club then ended up paying for his services......that is until a certain some one woke up and smelt the roses...

What makes me laugh is that it just isnt only the one loanee that johnsons has asked for .backed only for the said loanees to be utter s##t and they are talking about letting him loose with more money......

Guess if we have a cold winter quite a few wont need gloves...might need their heads looking at but at least their hands will be warm....aw....bless

Unless Patrick Cryne & Ben Mansford are also responsible for chopping & changing keepers, never sticking with a settled defence, killing the confidence of several players (Winnall, Roberts & the goalies been the stand outs), playing Winnall as a lone striker for what felt like about half our games, playing Wabara over Bree, Nyatanga at left back, changing 3 players at once along with the formation & producing a team that has no clue how to respond to going a goal down in games then I disagree.

Loads of managers don't have the final say on recruitment. It's no excuse for dreadful decision making. In fact it's quite common in football. Isn't working so badly for Watford.

And man for man these players are better than three quarters of this league anyway.

And Johnson obviously has more involvement in transfers than some are suggesting because of the Wilkinson loan & him having him at Oldham.

Agreed, we've a much better squad than the majority of the teams in this division but Johnson can't make it work. He's a tinkerer as we were all pre warned by Oldham fans, he's done nothing to suggest he can bring our own young players into the team which was one of his remits. He's barely won any games in this dog awful league , we play terribly boring football the majority of the time and yet still people say you can't keep getting rid of managers all the time. Well for me if they are failing you can. Simple as.

Oh aye, we're playing great and aren't really at the bottom of the league and the manager is doing a great job. Fancy all us thick heads not realising that, thanks for pointing out our shortcomings. We'll all try to be less short sighted, maybe you could too.
