what about us people that cant afford to go to a match, I watched em for over 30 years, now cant afford to go, wish I could , but not possible
We've always had a small fan base When was the last time (excluding the Prem season) that we averaged over 10k at home.
What a ridiculous statement! In fact I think that is even more ridiculous than some of your opinions about football.
I'm sorry but.. I normally agree with your posts but I have to take issue with you on some of those games.
Cardiff could have ended up 6 -6. We could have won it, though I thought Cardiff were the better side.
S Weds. Played them off the park.
Preston. Played them off the park second half.
Won't comment on the rest as I didn't see them as I don't go away and I was in Italy for the Luton (25 th Wedding anniversery)
I know we lost the above games but I don't think we were 'well and truely beaten' that implies a thrashing.

I'll let you off then I agree that attendance has nothing to do with the managers success. I don't think Watford averaged much last season
RE: What a ridiculous response! Ahhh the aggressive reaction.
Very typical but not very helpful.
Ever thought about a reasonable and reasoned response instead of calling anyone that disagrees with you a ******?
Cue abuse.....

Buy a Prius and a season ticket with the brass you save. you'll get mucho respecto down the bridge club.
RE: Buy a Prius Bridge club? Now you ARE getting dellusional.
Got out of bed the wrong side this morning did we?

Hang on I gave as much factually correct reasoning as he did for the dismissive response. Kew Gardens.
Im telling nothing other than the wounder that is our stay away contingent that can find time, money and inclination to browse the web on a frequent basis but not attend actual football matches are contributing to the downfall of the club they profess to support. I accept that some people cant afford to go, my comment wasnt directed at them, it was at those who can afford but choose not to.
Granted.... He hardly explored alternatives in his rebuttal but neither did he lower himself to personal insults.

RE: Im telling nothing setting aside the 'can't afford to' contingent.... there's slightly more to it than choosing not to. However, I choose not to because I choose to:-

[*]Spend my weekends with my young family (Which is in itself, is enough)[*]Play competitive sport[*]Have work to do - both studying and money earning and around the house.[*]Go out on Saturday night with my wife[/list] The cost doesn't come into it, though for others I'm sure it does.
My grounds for calling myself a 'proper' fan are based on emotions felt after a win or defeat (happy and downright grumpy respectivley).
The club needs to address the situation with supporters in town or its close environs. There's an urgent PR excercise needed, I wonder if the management know this.

RE: Im telling nothing Im sure that one or more of those 'reasons' are behind most of those who stay away. I could cite a few myself, and Im not saying those that attend games regular like are more 'proper' than any other. the point I was making was that by staying away so far this season, after enjoying a trip to Wales, fans will have given the manager an indication of where the club lies. if we cant muster 3/4s of a ground full after the playoff win and a surprisingly good start, playing attractive to watch football, then the manager will know whats what. we are where we are, but if we're looking to apportion blame on the inevitable departure of our manager and with him our best players, we should look no further than ourselves. Cue up folks...
RE: Im telling nothing If you made the worlds best soup and expected to sell it by word of mouth only you'd probably sell a couple of buckets full at most.
However, if you packaged it right, sold it through the right channels and pursued a serious marketing strategy you probably would be unable to make enough.
It's not just the fans apathy nor is it playing attractive football.
If you've got a good product, tell folk!
"If you tell them, they will come" To paraphrase a rather poor Kevin Costner film.
