Re: Don't agree with David Flitcroft on this issue

You're right it's up to him to make decisions. There's no need for him to lie about the reasons though is there.

    As I've said, mate

I don't agree with him. I would like to see both Bobby & Luke re sign, as I believe they can make a positive contribution on and off the field. However, I don't think David Flitcroft's paranoid, nor do I think he's a liar. Neither do I understand why such extreme allegations are levelled at him. It's been my professional experience in situations similar to this usually have more depth & substance than either party are willing to publicise.

I agree that they will have much more depth and substance to the situation and there will be lots of reasons. I just think making a **** excuse up like that 28 is past it is ridiculous and makes it look like the public excuse is a lie.

I think there's more to it

Than has been made public. Perhaps things could've been handled better, experience (or lack of) may play a part in that. But to put down in writing that someone is either paranoid, or a liar is not a road I'd choose to walk down. I believe David Flitcroft is neither.

Ok I take back that he IS a liar, though I believe that in this instance the reason given, as the sole reason, is a lie. Why Flitcroft chose to do so I do not know but he will have his reasons. And I agree, inexperience is most likely a reason for that.

    Many years ago

I got extremely upset when we sold Pat Howard to Newcastle. I was exactly the same when Mick Butler left for Huddersfield. However, these days I rarely get anywhere near as worked up about footballing issues as when I was a lad. I may not like certain situations when they arise (this one being a prime example), but I try to keep them in perspective. To see the bigger picture, as it were. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. When it doesn't, as I posted earlier, I try not to throw the teddy out of the pram when things don't turn out exactly as I want.
I'm still looking forward to the new season. Movements off the field, in the boardroom, appear to be positive. I'm hoping David Flitcroft can maintain his impressive record on the field as manager. In the coming weeks, I'm hoping to see new players being brought into the club strengthening all over the park.

This "because of his age" excuse, if official, is an absolute insult to every Barnsley fan's intelligence.

It is disappointing and pathetic and if it becomes the regular spouting of a new regime then I for one will have had enough.

And i'm not a Steele flag waver.

I am one who is annoyed at being considered a moron who can be expected to believe anything no matter how ridiculous.
