Who amongst us wouldn't have reacted like him if dickheads were insulting our wife after such a bad day in the office. He was limited with talent but I always felt he gave 100% on the pitch.
I'd be a bit taken aback if after a shift at our place I was to hear folk slagging my missus off. It's football. Wannkers will chelp off from the stands. I know that only too well with Jacob. But he didn't react like a neanderthal. Dawson should have known better, but caught up in Brek Shea's attitude of sticking two fingers up. I do agree that he always seemed to be trying hard, which is the least you can expect I suppose. I actually rated him until that first injury in Keith's tenure. But after that he was all piss and wind and no talent.
I didn't mind Dawson to be fair. I didn't rate him as a championship player but felt he was playing to the maximum of his abilities so I blame the manager for signing him, a similar situation to Dagnall really. It's the players who have the ability to play at championship level but won't put the effort in e.g. Mellis, McCourt & Shea that annoy me. Dawson's probably learnt his lesson from last year & wanted to get a deal sorted early this time round. If I was a player the waiting game over a contract & having an agent still trying to get the best deal as the seasons about to start would really piss me off (although I'm sure the wage would help)
