They used to say two year but certain doctors never stuck to the rule Three or four a season to keep you playing then close season to rest or surgery
I had 2 washout ops and it worked for a while, cortisone injection was brilliant, no pain having it done and virtually skipped out of the surgery to play 5 a side. Doctor told me I couldn't have any more cortisone because there wasn't a gap to injection me so went down the surgery route. 1st total knee replacement February 2022, op went well, did all the physio and I have less pain but also less mobility, had the 2nd one done last November and it's been terrible. Again I did all the physio, joined a gym, been swimming, kept as active as possible but I'm in more pain now than before the op and I would advise anyone who is thinking of having this done to think long and hard as to what they expect to gain. The healing process is long and arduous and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I also realise that others have had the op and its gone really well so I suppose its just the luck of the draw.
Ey up P. My Mrs had a Cortizone injection in her knee. The result was amazing. I had a Cold shoulder. (Extremely painful for a few seconds when triggered). A cortizone injection worked wonders. Thankfully it didnt/hasn't returned. My knees are a very big problem at the mo. Getting worse but not constant. Can't be arsed to get a proper diagnosis at the mo. Given the long waiting lists. Might see if Doc. Recommends injections. Got an appointment coming up for other reasons. Diabetes related.
