RE: Brendan O'Connell

There was one season in particular when he was my favourite player. Worked his socks off and could play a bit.

Agnew was a good footballer too for us. Always thought he looked about 40.

...you said you don't what he's up to these days...

But the first comment is that he's first team coach at Middlesboro.

Loved the goal he scored past Shilton at Southampton in the FA Cup.

one of his early games that, got kicked all over by Kevin Bond, scored a lovely volley , got subbed for Simon Jeffels who then went on to flatten Bond, great days.

    Steve Agnew :-

Just one more player in a long list of home grown talent that got hounded out of the club by the narrow minded Boo Boys that unfortunately inhabit the terraces of BFC. He was a very talented player, very aware of what was happening around him, played lovely football, but cos he didn't run around for 90 mins and sweat blood he was branded as useless.

Eyes Right O'Connell I called him

He could only run and pass diagonally to the right. Loved him though. Total nutter, got stuck in, never played at less than 100% and notched a few goals too. Top bloke.
