First half wasn't a great spectacle we had the better and it was very route one from them, which we were coping with well, it was definitely the kind of game to grind out a 0-0 or nick it 1-0 with a bit of luck or brilliance.
The changes massively did us, we stopped passing, became pedestrian and just lost our way. The pines injury should have just been putting Earl to LCB and bringing on Okeefe.

Definitely on Clarke this one, he's trying to be too clever outsmarting the opposition but today it's backfired spectacularly.

They only finished 5pts behind us last season, they've kept the bulk of the squad together and made what look like a few good buys and loans.

Did we not see another number 9 masterclass from Cosgrove then?

I don't think it is. He wouldn't have said they're not a proper football team if it was just the manner we lost to them.

I don't dispute it's a bad result, but let's have a tiny bit of perspective here at least. We were beaten by a side in the same division, and who finished 5 points behind us last year. We didn't get pumped 3-0 away to a team 5 leagues below us in the cup.

So in one breath you want to use recent history and not 50 years ago, but then in the next sentence you change it and talk about history and tradition??? Stevenage have earned the right to be in this league, those clubs have also won the square root of **** all like Stevenage, but guess what we're all in the same league.

That was one of the poorest I’ve seen us play for a while. Defensively, from open play and set pieces, we were all over the shop in that second half.

Seeing the team sheet, with the bench looking strong, I was feeling very optimistic too. Serves me right.

Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing but I’m not sure the changes at half time were needed. Fair enough if Pines needed to come off but surely we could’ve kept the shape. Be interesting to hear what is said in the post match interviews.

To say we play at Old Trafford soon, apart from Jalo maybe, nobody looked like they were auditioning for a starting place.

He wasn’t playing. But then he wasn’t on his own.

Don't think we lost many headers until he went off, then all of a sudden we're 2 down

Well that should sober up the HMS pi55theleaguers..
Suspect at the back again including the keeper.. The best midfield in the league proper had a day off.. toothless upfront.. only Jalo earn't his money today

Frustrating day in which only Jalo came out with any credit. Clarke will have learnt more today than he did against Crawley.

Thing is I’m old enough to remember us doing to other ‘better’ teams what it sounds like they did to us today.

All though not great like pretty much most of the team the service up to him was piss poor.

I'll keep saying it. Our last minute striker signings completely masked that our defence is weaker this season than it was last season and it was absolutely awful last season.

Agree.. thought Stevenage did a job on us and a good one at that.. we were dull first half.. DC, fair play changed it at half time to go and win the game.. but we came a very poor second...
I'd also like to bet we've 2or3 knocks that way Stevenage got stuck into us

What by taking off our biggest and best header of a ball and Cotter was the one player giving us a outlet on the counter attack.

So we bought Robert’s back as out solution to our problems at the back, unfortunately he,s nowhere near the player he was.

He's not going to get free kicks so he needs to learn to stay on his feet like Dike did eventually.
