RE: So, Andy Ritchie....

I agree, at least he's another striker and to be fair he cant exactly do worse than Wright or Richards.

Give him a deal till jan and see how he fairs, what have we got to lose?

The full skinny on Cad-amateri: from the Star:

Reds go for Danny boy

BARNSLEY boss Andy Ritchie hopes to sign striker ex-Bradford striker Danny Cadamarteri in time for Saturday's Championship match at Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old, who is coming back following a six month drugs ban, has been training at Oakwell all week and Ritchie hopes to persuade chairman Gordon Shepherd to sanction a deal.
"He's just what we need. He has power and pace and he can hold the ball up. I want him involved this weekend," Ritchie said. "We'll have to see what sort of deal we can make. It could be until the end of the season."
Ritchie and Shepherd were due to have talks today following 'a back me or sack me' ultimatum from Ritchie. He was responding to a radio interview given by Shepherd which highlighted concerns over why new players had not been brought to the club.
Ritchie wanted a proven goal scorer, Cadamarteri does not fill that bill. His last 39 league starts for Bradford and the Blades only brought three goals
His two year contract at Bradford was cancelled at the end of last season following the suspension which followed a random dope test failure.
His six month ban ended last Friday.
It was last season Cadamarteri tested positive in a post-match urine sample taken by UK Sport, the national anti-doping agency.
The examination found traces of a banned stimulant called Ephedrine. Cadamarteri appealed against the finding. It was over-ruled.
It was not the first time the Bradford born centre forward hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.
In October 2000, while playing for Everton, he was convicted of assaulting lap dancer Joeline Joel and fined £2,000. At a later trial he was also ordered to carry out 180 hours' community service for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
He served a six-month driving ban last season.

Nardy may as well retire ... as he'll spend 98% of his career injured.

CadburyMartini always does his best work alongside a powerhouse ... so expect him alongside Tommy Wright on Setdi.

Dream partnership?

Ritchies 3 sources told him not to sign Kazim-Richards

I'd upset Reid if it were my team.

TFP: Paul, I'm going to take you out of the team for a while
Reid: How long, boss?
TFP: Until you die.
Reid: Right boss. Have you signed cover for me?
TFP: No, but I thought this vileda supermop bucket would be quicker & better in the air, look - it's got wheels & everything.
Reid: That's fair enough, boss - he looks pretty handy
TFP: No worries Paul. Now get yourself off to Scarborough.
Reid: See you later boss
TFP: Not if I can help it

RE: troublesome

But Ritchie seems to have a happy knack of bringing in "troublecausers" and sorting them out. Devaney, MacIndoe......

Come on mate

Nobody is suggesting we should boo the fecker if he gets a game for the reds.

But he's hardly what we're after based purely on the only thing that matters, his record of scoring as a striker. Which quite frankly is w@nk. Combined with the fact that he's been out for 6 months, you can't blame people on here for being sceptical.

If he's spent the last 6 months training to be a Triathelete, then fair enough, he's worth a look. But he'd have to be super fit to be to gambled on.
