Point 1) What else do we base it on then? £265 for a standard of football 3 divisions lower than use is good value to you is it? Because it does nt seem like it to me. Point 2) the prices actually reduced for those that paid "ridiculously earlier" Point 3) We will be one of the cheapest in Div 1. As we were one of the cheapest in the Championship. You talk a lot of sense on here a lot of the time, but for the life or me I can't see how you can defend paying a similar price for watching non-league football, 3 divisions below what we are
Until Cryne took over and the berk came in, the peak of their achievement was on a par with an average season for us. Trouble is, people have now accepted we're a third tier club and with it they accept the third tier (at best) off field activities and third tier laikers like you know who. I'd say Stockport are more on par with a club like Rochdale than us.
I'm not defending owt, mate. I just don't see their season ticket price as obscene as you seem to. Others have already explained why they are at that price, and as I said, a tenner a game isn't bad to watch your club whatever the division. I don't have an issue with our season ticket prices either. I think the early bird thing is getting too early, with each year, but that's about all I can grumble about on that score. Our season ticket price has seemingly reduced a few quid (for buyers in April is it?), stayed the same, or gone up a fair few quid, and we're a division lower than last season. So I think you're view on Stockport is a little at odds with your view on us. If we ever dropped into the Conference North, I reckon our prices would be similar to County's. I can't give you the reasons why season ticket prices are set how they are, but maybe someone else can? But personally, I don't see them as an issue as much as I do matchday pricing. And I don't say that as a matchday ticket buyer (through bitterness or summat) because I willfully choose to do that. I just think anything above £20 at any level is taking the piss. But then, footballers wages take the piss so there's one answer for you.. I don't believe we were one of the cheapest either this past season. Probably somewhere in the middle, unlike the team we suffered. We'll be one of the highest next season, Shirley?
About 6th or 7th cheapest in the Championship, not sure about next season though tbh. Also Stockport only played 21 games so that equates to 265/21 = £12.62 per game I've paid £300 for the Ponty next season @ Barnsley equates to £300/23 = £13.04 per game. So a difference of 42p per game the difference between Div 1 & Non League Div II. Essentially the same price for a standard of football 3 divisions higher. mmmm I wonder who's got the best deal? Anyway, I know you've not got a season ticker hence your remarks about obscene matchday prices. Which is a problem I grant you, I can't do anything about that, although most games towards the end of last season there was some kind of deal on so matchday prices weren't at full price all teh time.
My remarks about matchday pricing are not in the slightest bit influenced by me being a matchday ticket buyer. Seriously. I could easily afford a season ticket, I can easily afford a matchday ticket. I choose the second option because I prefer being able to move around the ground, it's that simple. My issue with matchday pricing is a general one. You're talking nearly £20 for kids at most clubs. That's just not right. It's £44 at Norwich for a ticket. It's less than £150 for a Bayern Munich season ticket.. We're being fleeced. It's okay saying "but Stockport are charging more when you compare this, that and t'other" but at the end of the day, we're paying far too much to support our clubs. Modern football is ****.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on that point, but what do we do. Do we not go to the game because we think it is too much? but we like to go and support our team, don't we? So, what's teh answer, well start by getting the PL and FL hierarchy to see the problem, but they're too far up their own backsides to see the sunshine never mind recognize the problems starting them in the face. Also, the problems are too far gone to be rectified anyway, imho. Football is fecked.
I used to have Stockport as a second team went when I was in London to most games that didn't clash with us with my then roommate. For a few years they were definitely on a par with us but they got screwed over big style. Arthur Brownlowes pork pie hat is the best footie chant ever. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
How is £265 a similar price to £420? Note that Stockport only have 1 price regardless of where you choose to sit in the stadium. So I'm comparing it with best seats in Oakwell on season tickets and also taking our price after the early bird as that is what their £265 price is.
