Well turns out your the one talking about him as though you know him when in reality you brushed shoulders when he was 8 but thanks for the inside scoop.
Do you not think Zaha had a say. However That was purely the example. It shows the clubs are willing to do it when spending big on players as it benefits them to develop the player.
I think United wanted him to stay there for the season, Zaha's input would have been to say yes ok. Everton aren't really in the same position as United to buy players for millions and loan them back. Stones coming back was probably never an option so it's unfair to use it as a stick to beat him with.
Im not using it as a stick just questioning how much he cared for BFC, not gone off on one like some others. I just think with how much say players have these days combined with how often it happens he could have got it in the deal. I also get that Everton are not flush with cash but they could surely have put a recall clause in incase Coleman and Neville got injured. Just my two cents.
Healthy debate, it's what the forum is for. Maybe Everton felt he was close to a first squad selection so wanted to look at him closely in training etc? Maybe they had a specific training/conditioning program for him? Many reasons why they wouldn't want him to go on loan.
I said he cares about the club because he's a fan. I was then asked how I knew he was a BFC fan before he signed. I'm not claiming to know him. Read before you post.
No. I was wondering how knowing him at 8 would mean you knew what he thought now. Unless you are still in touch with him.
Again, read what I've said. I said he's a fan. Because he's a fan he cares about the club. I told you how I knew he was a fan. I'm not claiming to know what he thinks anymore than everyone else on here.
Fair enough. It's fair to assume he was/is a fan but that wouldn't stop him leaving. I wish him well in the future. Ill always take an interest in him because he came from us and what he achieves should reflect well on us.
He will not come back on loan because of some things that happened last season before he left. Religion !!!
John is a tarn lad, and spent most of his life at BFC, he grew up around the place. So it's fair to assume he supports us. But, an ex colleague of mine is good friends with him, and he's a Man Utd 'fan'. But all that is irrelevant anyway. He looked a very promising - but raw - talent over 5 months of last season. Definitely a lot of potential, but not Premier League quality whenever I saw him. Potentially though, yes indeed. And I was in the minority on here in January when I said I was happy for the lad, and happy with the fee. I stand by that. And even if he becomes a world beater I will say the same, because at that time, £3m for a hit and miss 23 games in a struggling side who looked destined to go down was a good deal at that time. And, his departure had no effect on our form either. He is one of us, has backed himself, and I hope he succeeds in whatever he does and I will always keep my eye on him, proudly. Gu on, John Stones! . *the renaming of the gym was embarrassing, though. But that was Flitcroft's call.
