Also, was that really Dave Watson sending him on the pitch? Someone on facebook said it was. I thought I recognised the guy, but dismissed it.
Watson been coaching with England for ages now, think since Hodgson took over. Always seems to sort the subs out.
Yeah, I knew he was coaching but didn't know he did the subs. It was weird, the first time I saw him I thought 'I know him, I'm sure I do but he looks different' but then dismissed it, because, well, why would I know him? Good advertisments for Barnsley tonight!
I've just got in from a family day out, so checked the news and had a look at the match report and line-ups. I was hoping he'd get a chance and I'm proud as punch to see he got brought on. Hopefully the first of many. It's a testament to the hard work put in by Burton and Branson and, not least, by Stones himself. I must admit though, I came on to the BBS with trepidation, half expecting a load of point scoring aginst the club, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that we've all left that alone and instead are wallowing in the pride of the occasion. Watson looked like an England international, but was unfortunate with his injury. Tiler had the making, but lost his way. Hirst should have had more caps and probably suffered for not moving to a bigger club. And Robson was daft for not calling up McCarthy and letting Ireland snap him up. So at last we can watch England with one of our own in the team. Fantastic!
Congratulations . Well done john your family must be so proud of you. May this cap be the first of many and lets hope that one day you are given the arm band too. Tonight your hard work this season as paid dividends, long may it continue. Feeling so proud one of our own as worn the 3 lions shirt. Once a barnsley lad always a barnsley lad unless your names parkinson....lol congratuuations once again
He's a special human being. We've heard that a lot in recent years, but that sentence really dose sum up this young man. He's absolutely nothing to do with the club anymore, but hands up and be honest not only do Barnsley fans love the bloke we've even found ourselves hoping another team do well sort of having a soft spot for them now so to speak, just because a ex player plays for them, now who would have thought that could have happened, not me.
