I'd love it if you could make it

At least I can trust you not to go looking to pick a fight with teenagers using a toilet!

    Do you like chestnuts?

If so, stick to the new ones.

    Eh? Who did that?

Sorry can't make it (obviously I'm really tempted by the prospect of discussing breasts with 2 middle aged men).... but I do have a certain young lady's 9th Birthday party to sort out.

    Witty? Me?

Enjoy it when it happens because it's getting quite rare these days.

That is, more or less, what she said to him

    Well so I'm told.

We can reflect on the 'good, old days'

When we did things like selling Eddie Loyden for £3 000 to Chester the day after we'd beaten a full strength Sheffield United 3-2, after being 0-2 down, with Loyden scoring a hat trick. This was the same Sheffield United side which won promotion to the old Fiest Division at the end of the season, 1970/71.

I'd rather talk about Bob Earnshaw

The only winger I've seen who didn't have any brakes.

He used to hurdle the kop wall

Then he used the shale on the kop to slow him down, like the escape lane on Hoylandswaine hill coming down into Silkstone. Of course, by this time the ball had usually sailed 50m over the goal, over the kop and was retrieved from somewhere on the old Co-op Sports ground where the academy now is.
