Exactly, championship experience means nothing.. It's all about quality, nowt else. Plenty of ex championship players currently taking a wage in league 1 and 2 I would expect.. However, they may be mid thirties and not up to playing at this level. The word experience is purely a buzzword. I would like us to be looking at the top tier say of the german leagues. Maybe a fringe player who we may have a chance of signing. If we go for someone playing regular championship football or from the german top tier as an example, we simply could not compete financially especially in salary offering.
......oh and he appears to be saying both cauley and alex will be staying. Quelle suprise!! if they do stay will those on here who are insistent they will leave this month immediately start speculating about them deffo leaving in the summer??? laugh? I coulder passed mi fags rarnd.
I seem to recall both Stendel and Winkler saying no-one was leaving and then a few days later Potts was sold to Preston. They sounded surprised when it happened. The head coach doesn't control these matters. All that said,I sincerely hope neither Woodrow nor Mowatt will be sold in this window
No I agree with you, I don't disagree with the plan at all, infact I think it's a good way of doing things. However I do think we could afford one or two to just help the inexperienced lads. A few games this season, especially Charlton at home springs to mind where I do believe a player who's had previous in those situations could've seen us over the line with abit of game management to take all 3 points. A positive though is that these lads are learning and improving every game. But I'm not a big fan of throwing people in the deep end and hoping they'll learn to swim in any profession. I agree with you, age is irrelevant. Also footballers who have played a lot of their careers in the championship don't tend to be rubbish. Again I don't think we should sign a full squad, would just be nice to see one or two help the talent we already have.
Woodrow is the first injury Struber has had to cope with. It didn't go well at Derby so I hope we do get some more experienced players in. We ve a massive task in front of us and I worry that other clubs will shore their squad up . Basically I think Stoke Wigan Charlton Luton and Barnsley are in the mix. If Charlton have the money to come after Mowatt then they become an even bigger problem.
Charlton's best player has rejected an offer of a new contract, and is likely to leave. That'll hurt them if Lyle Taylor leaves.
Matt Mills & Leroy Lita had plenty of Championzhip experience when we signed them, and they were garbage. We require very good players regardless of their experience.
It will if they don't get any more players in but they'll also have money to spend from his sale plus they're a more attractive proposition as they're further up the table with new owners who I assume may be more willing to splash the cash,
Huddersfield will be in the mix too if we can beat them on Saturday. That’s why it’s such a must win game for us.
We can but hope. Just listened to his interview and he's not short on confidence by the sounds of it,what a bonus that would be to unearth another Redders!
I think the fulham game on the opening game of the season gave the directors/recruitment people a false sense of accomplishment, as in they probably thought after that match we'd be more than comfortable in this league without any additions etc even tho we were still light in many positions...... Now i hope we arent going down the same path and relying on the past months improvement and thinking we'l be ok. We still require multiple signings in various positions.
