Expected him to go on to good things. Surprised to hear he hasn't. Looked a real prospect when he was here.
By default Did you not see how we went from bottom of the league to top half form under Struber? Do you think Val comes in & takes that team to the play offs if so many of that side hadn’t significantly improved under Struber?
I think a lot of that was a hangover from Stendel. My main gripe with Stendel was that he only seemed to have one style of play, which was brilliant in league 1 when we were one of the top sides, but didn't work when we were an underdog. Struber tried to carry it on for a while, but changed it after the new year when we started to win a few games. We were great to watch, as you say, when we came back after lockdown.
Val clearly motivated the players and completely changed the style. Us getting to the play offs that season had absolutely nothing to do with Struber.
Not sure Val could have got as much out of the players with his management style if they’d still been as bereft of confidence as when Struber came in.
I wasn't sure how much of that interview was put on a bit - not in the same ballpark as Matt Hancock's vaccine rollout performance which was pathetic, but didn't feel totally genuine.
Haha. I just found it strange that he was crying but I guess I have no idea what his personal battles have been. I love Barnsley football club but I’m not sure if they would make me cry.
I don't think the Head Coach makes much difference other than the players have to take to him. The players didn't take to Schopp. The board needed the players to take to the next guy then appointed the school ladies volleyball coach in Asbaghi. Asbaghi would have been a great close season appointment had we stayed up.
Kin ell. Little house on the prairie made me cry. And the end of blood brothers the musical . ( 4 bleeding times av sin it. )
