Home form very iffy, pricing structure ridiculous, get away from the 200 or so contributors on forums who argue amongst themselves which way the club is going, and the 2k or so extra season tickets on the back of last season, many i imagine will be feeling conned and not renew next season, there is no incentive for any non regulars to start coming to Oakwell when they can see once again the powers that be are more interested in developing players and profiting when they move on than developing the team so it can be seen to be getting ready to move up another rung on the ladder.
I don't think it can be argued that the club is going in the right direction, regardless of how we go about our business. The club is in the best place it's been in almost two decades. I have to agree about the pricing structure though. Whilst I agree with comments from Patrick about charging the same as everyone else in this league, to try and get some parity with other clubs, I think it's alienated the casual supporters. In a small town of 80,000, 10k is a big achievement. 25,000 from a 500,000 strong City like Sheffield or Leeds, on the other hand..
Especially when you think how many leeds fans come from other parts of Yorkshire. Would be interesting to know what percentage actually live in the LS postcode area. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
People want us to adopt the Twenty Is Plenty campaign and/or try the Huddersfield/Bradford way of selling season passes. Our home form before saturday was 17th. Not sure if we've gone lower after another poor home result. Many see the season as over because of player sales we aren't going up and aren't going down. So spending money on games with so little riding on it when the price of one 90 minute game of entertainment you can pay for an whole month of 24/7 sport on Sky.
it's about right yes based on the season pre premiership using the inflation calculator. Then we have an example from 1996, not long into the sky era: Division 1 Grimsby Town September 1996 Eaststand lower 9£ The Bank of England inflation calculator puts this as 15:50 in todays money. The prices shot up significantly in the noughties.
Whatever business it is be it shop pub or football club it can't prosper without casual customers so they are the people to go out and ask why they are not attending matches.
Afternoon 1st post for me. I'm not sure the fans would come if we followed the Bradford & Huddersfield model & i know it won't ever be proven until it is done. It's a tenner this Saturday v Huddersfield, the club can't make it much cheaper for the casual fan than this, it'll be interesting to see how many more attend this big local derby against a side 3rd in the division....
