    i'll field this one

i put 24 hours on the card, 48 if its a saturday or its my day off the next day, then we have to pop it in at a post office, which still should be there back at the office the next day, but some dont quite make it and we get pissed off customers down trying to get something thats still floating about,
even get some there at 6am when we dont get to the packets n parcels til gone 8,
as for leaving it next door....have you wrote to the office stating this is ok? and is it your regular posty?
i go anywhere so if you told him its ok to do this, but a leave reserve is on they wont know?
i got a bollocking the other week for leaving some free light bulbs at the back of someones house and they reported me....they're right but.......*******!we all know what the freebies are, i even bring them boxed plants back!
and now i slip cards if a frigging catalogue wont fit through :D

Lol. Cheers for that mate. I have a permanent note on the door that says it's ok to leave with any of the immediate neighbours, just as long as I get left a note saying what number it has been left at. But no, I don't think it is the regular postie - having said that, I think he may be our permanent new one unfortunately. I think he seems to have been coming for a while now (2-3 weeks).

Just to balance it out ...

Our postie is very good indeed. The Mrs is quite heavily preggers at the moment and was upstairs when he knocked on the door the other day. She waddled at top speed but it takes her ages to walk anywhere at the moment. By the time she'd got to the door she expected him to have gone but instead he was looking through the window to double check that there was no-one in before writing one of them notes.

What used to infruiate me however was the bleeding sorting office when you had to try and re-arrange delivery of a missed parcel, impossible to get to them on the phone. At least you can do it online now though!

He may have been looking to burgle you, thinking there was nobody home when he knocked ;-)
