He's been in the squad for both games so far, and will be today. The match day squad is the starting 11 with everyone else on the bench (unless excluded as injured).
He's just not what people made him out to be on here. Our fans blew smoke up his arse for seasons. When in reality he had half a season under val where he was good.
Being called up by Hungary, loan moves to Millwall and Sunderland and moving to central midfield have not helped this lads career. It has sent him off in a direction away from BFC that may have caused his career more harm than good. If he gets the transfer he wants then any league 1 move is not what he is after and who in league 1 can pay £2m. Is he going to be a regular starter in a top half championship side. I think fans and coaches of these teams have higher expectations than Styles. Lower end championship need better than Styles for £2m to help keep them in the division or push them top half. My advice would be, play left wing back at Barnsley for the rest of your contract, try and care a bit more, explain to the fans that he had his head turned but is now going get his head down and show everyone how good of a player he can be. He will only be 26 ish when his contract expires with us and if he has had a decent season or two with us, he should get a better pick of championship clubs if they haven't a transfer fee to lump out on him. He never knows we might get back in the championship and he may enjoy working with Clarke and Connor.
Lost his chance for a move to a big club when he failed to impress at Sunderland, about the biggest club he will ever attract. We were hoping he'd have a good Euros so we'd get some interest in him, that's worked out well for us!
This is as good as reading a match day thread after the match when we end up winning after a poor first half.
I'm chuffed for him, must be a right experience to play at the euros, ignore the muppets Callum and enjoy every second of it.
That's exactly the thing. I've been trying to put into words what I felt after reading the @Archey post for the last 20 minutes and I just wasn't expressing it correctly, so I kept deleting it. You nailed it.
"Hungary are unbeaten in their last 14 outings with Styles in the side." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c899z89p7d4t
I'm imagining the headlines tomorrow: 'Styles sinks Scots,' or 'Callumity for Clarke.' Could add hundreds of thousands to his value. I really do hope that he does well. It would be a win-win, both for him and for us.
