Is that the same Turnbull who has started every league game this season?

I would say we need a striker before any other position.

Mitrovic would struggle for goals in front of our midfield

Seems like sell on clauses are always included, but not sure how good you think Styles is going to be in the future, he won’t become a premier league player in my eyes, lack of pace will hold him back for starters, we would do well if get 3 million for him

Disagree. Waste of time buying more strikers, when they get zero service from midfield. Midfield is a chasm & that is why we are where we are.

I think 3million would be a decent deal based on this season. At wing back many times like v preston hes been caught napping or slow to get back after going forward. And in center mid he isnt strong enough.

To PS my above point I think most of us expected Stylo to move into the middle to replace Mowatt & for him to flourish. That has not happened, and is one of many reasons for our malaise this season. He's still young & learning. Mowatt was poor when he came to us & Hourihane no world beater. All these players need a bit of faith, nurturing & coaching, but also an experienced head or two in the side. The owners don't give a ****. We are just a battery farm.

Mowatt was totally diffrent to styles he had played 120 championship games for leeds before he came to us back then he was the most experienced player in our squad. He had got frozen out at leeds when they signed hernandez and lost his way abit. Styles isnt strong enough to play in central midfield for us it showed when he has this season. Could he play if we had a tough tackling along side him? I dont know.

Experience :D That sounds lovely, but you know as well as I do that they would loan us someone from their under 18s who is a real prospect, an emerging talent ala C. Gomes. But at least Conway would have a bit o wonga

I know he'd played those games. I live in Leeds and mix with Leeds fans all the time & they thought it was mad to let him go. The truth is he was still young & had lost his mojo & they offloaded him. Pirlo wasn't made overnight, but in the walking pace of the Italian League it is somewhat easier than "vertical football" or no ******* idea, like we had under Schopp. Styles could be a very good championship player, he proved that last season & to be fair has put in a shift this year in a poorly organised side. Schopp was a complete chancer. Useless. Even his dress sense was terrible. The writing was on the wall. Conway. Conway Conway.

He will do well there because most weeks he will come up against sides that are League 2 / conference standard and he can have an easy ride.

Not saying he wont eventually turn out to be a decent center midfielder but he isnt a championship center midfielder for me yet based on when ive seen him play. Celtic could be a good move as bar the top 4 its league 2 standard at best even devante and kane hemmings scored goals in that league.

Just got back from the Final at Hampden. Good game great atmosphere. I think Styles is a class act but he wouldn’t get anywhere near a position in the Celtic midfield. He could only go as a LWB and even there he’d be up against it in getting a place, but certainly got the talent to give it a go. He’s exactly the kind of player that Postecoglou would want - comfortable on the ball, good engine, and will develop more in a better side.

Great move for Styles not so good for Barnsley. Please stay here Callum.
