The Barnsley Magyar, played a full 90 tonight in a 2 all draw at Bulgaria. I think they'd already qualified.

Amazing. Did he influence the game more than he does for us?

Not a clue, didn't watch it. He does seem to perform for them though in the bits of games I have seen.

Probably because he’s got better players around him and the onus isn’t on him.
    He’s defo not a leader.

He's got a very annoying habit of scoring a goal every time I slag him off. Actually, it's a habit I appreciate a lot, but it doesn't half make me look like a ****. I don't get the love-in with Styles. He either falls down or gives the ball away just about every time he touches it. He's been by far the worst player all season. He's a nightmare of a player. And then, when I make that point, he scores. Inevitably after he's missed four chances that my dead Nan would have scored, but that's not much of an argument when he's just scored. What I really don't understand are the inflated player ratings he gets when he's put us under pressure every time he's touched it, 'cos he's fallen down or given it to the opposition centre forward 20 yards from goal in acres of space (he does that 5 times every game and people blame the defence while calling him a superstar, it's bizarre, he's beyond rubbish). I just don't get it. I've never known a bigger liability.

He's probably just scored a screamer from 20 yards because I've written that. Even if he has, he's crap.

Couldn't disagree more Jay with most of that. I get the fact he's not at his best at the mo. And I've stated my thoughts on why, on several occasions. So I'll not go over old ground.
    Opinions eh. :)

Pretty eventful game. Playing behind closed doors in Sofia the Hungarians took the lead and then had to come from behind to draw 2-2 with the equaliser an own goal in the 97th minute, cancelling out a shocking penalty given to the Bulgarians at 1-1. Both teams also had a player sent off with the score at 1-1.

Styles is visible but unless my eyes deceive me he doesn't actually touch the ball in the above 6 minute clip. I'm sure he'll probably have looked better playing with Liverpool's Szoboszlai in midfield rather than Russell though and Hungary would also seem to be blessed with a centre-forward who seems odds on to be 'hairy-arsed' (below - the guy who scored their first goal).

I wouldn't mind seeing Styles get a WWF chokeslam lol, it might be the wake up call (the slap in the face) that he needs!.

Think he's got one eye on a move so not fully committed. Sure we're only playing him for the shop window.

I still think he’s a better left wing back than a midfielder.

His best period with us was with Val at LWB, but he seemingly doesn’t see that as his natural position. But anybody with eyes can see he’s a poor central midfielder, too small & lightweight, and he’s an even worse #10 where the PE teacher used to play him.

He’s overrated & there’s no way we’ll end up with more than 500k for him.

I think the problem is really that Styles mentally left Oakwell last year. He doesn't want to be here, that's obvious, he only signed an improved deal to secure a loan move away.

He's off to the first club that meets the release clause and that's probably best for both parties. He was excellent under Val - he's not a bad player at all, he just doesn't want to be here.

Never understood this thought process TBH.
Very strange way going about it if he has, you’d think it was obvious that the better he played the better transfer he’d get, whereas being anonymous so much all he’s doing is harming his chances.

From what we've seen you're right. But is he a better left wing back than Nicky Cadden?

Over rated imo. Never rated him in center midfield especially in the championship. This season we must be playing him to put him in the shop window. Not suprised the release fee hasn't been met. Reminds me of George moncur with less end product.

I agree he's been quite disappointing, but comparing him with Gorgeous George is borderline slander!
