When I used to say I didn’t think he was that good & that I didn’t think he’d be able to replace Mowatt (many on here did) I felt like I was his biggest critic.

After reading some of the posts on here I think I’m one of his biggest fans now!

Ultimately I don’t think he’s ever been a central midfielder. I don’t think his awareness is up to scratch, he gets caught in possession too much. He might get away with it in international football where you get more time on the ball but I don’t think you get that in English football.

I prefer him at wing back but I also like Nicky Cadden so I don’t really have a place in the team for Styles. If we can get a half decent fee for him (we won’t get £1m+ in my opinion) it’s probably best for him to go especially with him been on high wages.

I'd say 6th is a fair enough representation of his season so far, not the best but far from the worst. He has the potential to be our absolute standout though. I like him.

we av plenty of improving young uns so cant see it being down to coaches, he wanted out after relegation got a loan move still no teams come in for him, hes showed touches of class but only under val was he consistent, i dont think hes gone backwards apart frm the val season and hes playing midfield again. i hope he can help us to promotion before he leaves.

3-1 home win for Hungary this afternoon against Montenegro although they were 1-0 down when Styles was subbed off on 64 minutes.

Hungary then scored in the 66th and 68th minutes.

His best period imo without a shadow of doubt was under Struhber. (And I disliked Struhber) great season under Val as well.
Nothing alongside him in the relegation season, put too much pressure on him, (to be the leader so to speak,) imo.

Why didn't you like Struber? I think we played some attractive football when he was in charge and got 40 points in 30 games - 40 in 28 after unluckily losing his first two games.

Were we boring under Struber, glad we stayed up obviously but if Covid had not happened when it did we were going down definitely!.....Strubers team was crap beforehand and by misfortune we got saved by the pandemic

For me. he persevered with his favourites for far too long. Radlinger and Ritzmair both poor at best putting it mildly. Simple as that.
Walton and Styles should have been brought in much sooner. Styles had a few Cameos and imo oozed class at that time.
He's not the worst manager we've had over the last 6/7 yrs. but I genuinely don't think we'd have had to have to wait, till the last kick in the last game of the season, if those 2 had been brought in earlier.
    Reducing my stress levels lol.

I agree with your first point, for sure. Radlinger, in particular, was useless.

The first game I saw when he was in charge, his second game, was the very unlucky 3-2 defeat at Blackburn. A Radlinger blunder at the end caused us to lose, after we'd been camped in their half after the interval. Blackburn manager, Tony Mowbray, described our second half performance as "reminiscent of Real Madrid". We were also desperately unlucky to lose 1-0 at Elland Road, due to an unfortunate own goal by Sollbauer. After that match Bielsa was full of praise for the quality of our football. When Struber joined us, we had just 9 points in 16 games. I think he did a good job. Our form and results throughout his tenure were those of a mid-table Championship side. I think Struber did a good job.

Struber was the best manager we have had in a long time. You point out the Cardiff game, which to be fair was a complete and utter shambles. However, I am struggling to think of a manager we have had ever who hasn’t overseen some utterly embarrassing performances.
