Never done it consistently for us. Sadly dunt look like he wants to either..he's been an enigma for us as we kno he can do but we can't keep waiting for it to happen..Time to end the story and part company for what we can get.

I agree with this, kanes off and it would be good if he could knuckle down for us and play center midfield and then earn his move higher up. Sadly I'm not holding out much hope and I think the club want shut as he's one of the bigger earners

I think we need to help him find another Club personally. £500k + £200k/yr in wages gives us £ for a very good L1 signing, possibly two.

He’s had one good season with Anderson behind him, Mowatt to the side of him & Morris ahead of him. 3 quality players. Other than that season he’s not done a lot.

I tend to believe he got over rated based on having one decent season in a team that suited him perfectly with talent all around him over the idea that he’s a huge talent who will at some point start showing it regularly.

I think the transfer to Sunderland will go through. He's been in the starting XI for most of the games he was available. Fans may not like it but it's clear it was supposed to be permanent back in January and if he'd been able to pass a medical he'd be gone.

Whilst I agree that playing in a strong side made Styles look better, I think it's a little hard on the lad himself to suggest that's the entire reason he performed. He was absolutely phenomenal on a regular basis in that side, and we'd have been nowhere near top 6 without him.

Time has moved on though, and he can't keep dining out on that season. He's had a couple of goes at proving he can do it in the Championship, and I fear for him (and us) he'll now be short of takers at that level.

As others have said, it's make or break time for Callum. If he's lucky he'll get a Championship side willing to take a gamble on him, if not he's gonna have to buckle down with us in a way he didn't manage to do this season.

The board last year did very well with Styles, he clearly didn't wanna be here, so at start of season we told him you can go out on loan, a league higher, they'll pay wages & a fee, but you sign an extra years contract so we still get a decent fee... Unfortunately, he's been a lot worse than many of us would have thought. It was one of the things I praised the board for. Hindsight, eh?

He had a really good season but was he really phenomenal?

If I was ranking players of their importance that season he would be below Mowatt, Helik, Anderson, Collins, Morris & Dike. Probably on a par with Brittain.

He was brilliant in spells under Struber and Ismael. Seems to have struggled for 3 seasons since. He's 24 now, so he could do with a really consistent season.

I imagine we'll be trying to sell him this summer, for whatever fee we can get. Probably best for everyone involved.

It would be great if he came back and really applied himself here though!

By the time he reports for pre-season training he will probably be out longest serving player. Make him captain and perhaps he will set an example to the newcomers.

I wouldn't mind Phillips, Styles and Connell as our midfield three next season. Don't get all this worry about the squad next season. Shaw and Dallas haven't had a kick in anger for us so to say they're not good enough is ridiculous. We'll have that lad Lofhouse coming back along with Lopata and Shepherd. Need a striker and some defensive cover.

Not bothered at all that we'll lose Cole, Kane, Williams and Cadden.

Those three midfielders are as a group too static. We need someone to run with the ball.

Correct mate, our starting 11 won't be as bad as some make out and some people on here saying we'll be in a relegation battle is crazy.

If we take a look, our 11 could be NEW KEEPER, NEW LEFT BACK, Pines, MDG, Earl, Lofthouse, Connell, Phillips, Styles/Russell/Grant/, Cosgrove, Jalo.

Providing we recruit well for a new left back and keeper thats a good starting 11 that, our problems will lie in the depth of our squad, but even with good recruitment there we'll be fine.

Our problems aren't as far stretched as people would have you believe, IF we can get a capable manager in and good players to replace those going out, we will be up there again next season.

What makes everyone think Jalo is ready or good enough to start next season as a first choice striker?
I've not seen anything yet to suggest he is.

To be fair to Jalo, he’s just come off the back of an injury and not really had the minutes.
I think with a preseason and some jelling with a regular strike partner next year could be his breakout year.

also has Cole looked like a first choice striker for the last few months?

Why would we want a player who hasn't wanted to be here for 2 seasons as our captain? No thanks
