John Barnes has just hit the nail on the head, people are more concerned about been whiter than white than what goes off on the pitch. So Suarez called Evra a N1gger, it's wont be the 1st time he's been called and it won't be the last.
Re: He's helped the media carry on this boring fecking saga. Because the PC brigade have made it that way.
That makes it ok then. Dear footballer, feel free to crack iain hume over the head, it wont be the first time so no biggy
When did I say it was ok?? I only said it won't be the 1st time Evra's been racially abused so why bitch about it now??
Let me get this right. Despite being racially abused by Suarez, Evra was willing to shake his hand before the match (nothing to do with forgiving & forgetting, just a handshake to a fellow pro ahead of the imminent match) but Suarez got the titty lip on and declined. Who's the cry baby exactly??
Re: He's helped the media carry on this boring fecking saga. Since when did you actually hear someone being referred to, primarily, as "white". Do you hear people say "I was talking to a white bloke today" or "the white bloke"....generally not, so the term "black" is used to identify someone as different, now I'm not saying that in certain circumstances it's not a reasonable way to describe if that is a quick way of narrowing down who you are referring to but loads of times i hear people talking and they refer to the persons colour when it has absolutely no bearing on what they are talking about.
Players will enter field of play together and shake hands prior to kick-off http://www.thefa.com/Leagues/Respect/ProfessionalGame.aspx
Re: He's helped the media carry on this boring fecking saga. If the PC brigade (whoever they are) really have made it unacceptable for white people to insult black people by calling them n1gger, then that's a good thing. I just thought it was a collective awakening during the 80s, silly me for thinking it was that sinister PC brigade up to no good. Time to play my joker; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...conservative-politics-lead-people-racist.html
What a fundamental misunderstanding of the issue Have your ancestors been treated as a sub-species for generations, good for nothing but slaves just because of the colour of their skin? Were your father and grandfather denied the same opportunities as the rest of society just because of the colour of their skin? Have you had names thrown at you since you were a child that have made you feel scared and worthless just because of the colour of your skin? Of course not. You've breezed through life with every possible opportunity thrown your way. But now you claim to have suffered the same treatment as a black person because you've had a few names thrown at you? Use your brain man. Of course you feel nothing when someone calls you these names. Being white has no connotations of anything negative attached to it, so being called a name that refers to that can't possibly cause you any offence. You've no history, either personal or generational, of being shamed, of being told you're worthless of being told you're no good so of course such names don't bother you. In western society black people have been persecuted for centuries because of the colour of their skin. They've been denied basic human rights, education, job opportunities because of the colour of their skin. Almost to a man they will have had names thrown at them since they were children that have made them feel frightened and ashamed. So when it happens to a person in their work place by someone who is apparently a professional, not as banter, but an attempt to make them feel worthless all over again then that person has every right speak out against it. And it is a big deal. And for a white boy from western society to claim he knows how such a person feels because he's experienced it himself is just ******* stupid.
Evra reports Suarez to the FA and the FA respond with an 8-match ban. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. What I don't understand is why people expect Suarez to then shake his hand the first time they meet again. If you'd been suspended from work for 8 weeks because an employee had reported you, on your return to work would you go up to that person and shake his hand?
Re: What a fundamental misunderstanding of the issue What Jay said. And for someone who so often publicised Love Music, Hate Racism and his part in it, to basically say that all victims of racism need to do is man up and laugh it off is, quite frankly, unbelievable.
Re: He's helped the media carry on this boring fecking saga. What a suprise that was an article from the Daily Mail.....
Re: He's helped the media carry on this boring fecking saga. It'll have alienated 99% of their readership, that's for certain. The other one percent will be those who don't understand what it means.
I've said ALL victims of racism need to man up? I've mentioned this incident and a few incidents that have happened to me. And I stopped being involved with LHMR quite a while back, when it started becoming a platform for the Unions and UAF to spout ******** it was time to get out.
I can't tell if you're taking the p*ss or being serious. As for people asking why calling a black person n***** is worse than being called pommie or whatever it's because as a race we were never enslaved nor suffered centuries of subjugation.
"It's just some words." "It's all just ********, playground stuff." Your line of thinking is pretty clear.
