I've never said all victims of racism should man up, you're putting words into my mouth.

I've mentioned a few incidents and now you've got me saying all the millions of victims of racism over 100's of years all throughout the world need to man up.

 

About the fact that he might have been racially abused before being at all relevant.

I think he probably has, yes. But what does that have to do with the Suarez incident?

Judging from your comments I'd say it would be you who would prefer to live in a world where everyone is whiter than white...

 

TBH both mangers are as bad as each other Dalgleish in this case is suffering from selective blindness (again)and Fergusson is suddenly more concerned about what could cause a riot than for instance when a mob of his players are bearing down snarling at referees etc.
And what about this Man U fanzine that the police confiscated with the KKK masks with Suarez on it was that just intended as a bit of light humour because they know scousers like a laugh?. As in all things there are good and bad amongst both sets .
Personally I think this handshaking thing at the beginning of games is a joke anyway, whats it prove? most of the time they don't even look at each other the 'shake'is half hearted and once the game starts it doesn't stop them kicking lumps off each othr if they are that way or using snide tactics to get opponents sent off.

 

I'd be interested to know the views on slavery of modern day black British people. I bet the vast majority don't know a thing about it apart from some vague notion that it existed.

I can't see why people bring it up as an issue in relation to modern day racism.

I'll own up to watching the Celebrity Big Brother with Jade Goody and her family her on it. Embarrassing admission I know! It was all over the newspapers when Jade Goody called Shilpa Shetty 'Shilpa Poppadom' but no big outrage was made about Jermaine Jackson calling Jade and her family white trash.

Just thought that was an example of what you were asking for

I watched it too. Only Big Brother I've ever watched. I never once thought Jade was racist. She was a complete bitch, particularly when she got together with that model lass, and they did themselves no favours, coming across as a couple of bullies, but I didn't think Jade was even the tiniest bit racist. If she was that facet of her personality would have come out, but it didn't even come close to surfacing.

As an aside, I think Jade learnt a lot about herself on that show and genuinely tried to improve herself as a person from then on. She was constantly vilified in the press but I found it terribly sad when she died so young.
