The only thing Marley Watkins and Jane Hemmings has in common is that they've both played in Scotland. Hemmings was a tryer, not up to the standard of league 1, although I would like to have seen him get a proper run of games under his belt. Marley Watkins has got loads to offer. He can pass, cross, shoot, tackle, run and I'd like to think, score more goals eventually.

I go along with that. When I first saw him I thought we have our own Duncan Edwards here. There are obviously some medical problems involved but please don't write him off yet.

The lad may have been very promising as a youngster - in fact he must have been. But that promise doesn't always translate into fulfillment at senior level. I'd want to see a lot more from him to be convinced that he can in any way deliver on that promise now. We'd all like a local lad to come good, but you can't ignore the evidence in front of you.

Most of the players would look a lot better if they knew what the frig they were supposed to be doing, there's a different formation every half! Whatever's happened to Digby over the last couple of years has taken away the pace and drive he had but the boo boys picking out one of our own young lads is a disgrace.

Digby might be good enough, he might not.

All I'm certain of is he's been in desperate need of a loan spell & a run of games for at least 2 seasons.

Making one appearance every few months is no good for his development, the team & the fans who'll naturally think he's **** if that's all they see of him

    Here Here!

Short changed for a long time now.

It's an entertainment sport which folk pay to watch.

It's not awful at all. The OP that is. The product is dire hence the frustration of the PAYING public

These so called professionals get paid more money than me and if I was **** at my job I would expect to be criticised.

As kind as I can be

and as much as I'd dearly love Digby to fulfill the promise he showed pre injury, he just does not seem to have it anymore.

His mobility, pace, awareness of play and drive all currently fall well below the standard I expect of a first team professional footballer.

Quite why our current manager picked him in the first place and then persisted for 90 mins is beyond me. Digby could not have been less effective on Saturday if he had tried. In the 2nd half he managed to touch the ball 4 times, once in a controlled manner! I did not watch him too closely in the 1st half but I cant imagine why Johnson did not remove him from play at the first opportunity as that level of performance for a central midfielder is simply not good enough and was a significant contribution to the defeat, more often than not occupying the vacuum where neither opposition player nor ball was likely to be.

Digby was not alone in his ineffectiveness on Saturday, others made sterling efforts in being invisible, but a central midfielder simply has to offer more than he did (and has done since he returned from injury).

If Digby needs confidence he needs to find it out on loan, not in what is looking ever more like a relegation struggle.

Agreed. The lad needs to get some game time out on loan, league 2 or conference level and see if he can cut it.

Got to agree with all the above - i'd be releasing Rothwell too from his loan, I'd like to see Ryan Macloughlin back as a winger on loan he showed more about him than Harris Jennings and Cameron Stewart or Kiwomya
