Like for like substitutions? Apart from Vic they were far from ‘like for like’. Took a midfielder off and put a forward on, moved a full back to midfield and put the centre half to right back. Went 4-2-4 He then took a forward off and brought a midfielder on and went 4-1-2-3. The last 2 within about a 5 minute period. It was utterly mental.
The Moon/Brittain thing was rather strange. I assumed when CG came on, Brittain would go to right back with Moon going off but clearly not.
My favourite was Palmer off and Odour into centre midfield for 10 minutes. Its like watching a teenager throwing stuff at a bonfire hoping for a reight big bang.
I meant the first change. Needed an extra midfielder, or full backs, and he waits till they score and just changes one of the strikers. I assumed the next two changes were the result of a raffle.
he certainly likes ‘mixing up’ the central midfield pairing, think we had about 3 or 4 different combinations of 2 in the previous home game. Think the players heads probably spin wondering where they’re going.
Ben Williams was waiting about 3/4 minutes to come on before the goal. No idea what that change would have been but possibly to a flat back four with him and Williams as full backs? Or Brittain? Brittain to midfield? Either of them off? Can’t even second guess.
Fair enough, but if he’s decided that the shape isn’t working, why suddenly decide to keep the shape when they’ve scored? He could have moved to a back 4 without any changes, with Kitching at left back, Williams right back and Helik/Moon central, then a midfield three of Styles, Palmer and Brittain.
I agree. I wasn’t defending him I was just pointing that out and asking/questioning what sub he was going to make and why.
The fact that Ben Williams is in the squad and considered as an option to change the game tells me this manager is cuckoo. Peter Principle- promoted above his ability. Next.
If you’re telling me to chill out then I really do need to take that advice on board - I thought 2021 couldn’t get more nuts. Understood. Was being defensive over pointing something out and it being assumed I’m saying tonight was ok. That last 30 minutes was an embarrassment. Also probably stems from the ‘public’ shoutouts I got on Saturday as well to be fair.
Like for like? I think the only way they could have been any less like for like, would have been if we'd taken Woodrow off for Walton.
The sky commentary were praising Cooper for being proactive and changing things about and slating Shopp for stood doing sod all about it.
As i said earlier. I meant the first change. That was too late and didn’t really change anything by replacing a forward that struggled to control the ball with a slightly bigger forward that struggled to control the ball
All that apart can anyone say what happened to Benson he was supposed to be playing or was it that he hinted that we weren't good enough in the press yesterday
