RE: I'd have put money on the one person coming to James' defence would be Dreamboy

So in the past when we have done these offers has it worked for longer than one match? No the crowds always go back to the usual level which surely defeats the purpose.

I love how this BBS works. If someone agrees with you they are probably worshipped. When someone doesn't agree with your opinion like me or James we are a lovely person (doh) (doh) (doh)

When I bought my season ticket in June I thought it was

good value as I get about nine games for 'free' when compared with the match day price. If the club want to reduce prices for a few games in the season in trying to bring the club to a wider audience I'm all for that. If this policy attracts a minimal amount of new fans then it will have been worth it in my eyes.

If the club wanted to do something for the ST holders then they could have discounted the Burnley tickets on production of a voucher but that's up to them.

Shhh James we are cnuts for having a difference of opinion. People like Dyson would prefer a BBS full of people agreeing with everything he says. Kinda like a back scratching club. People should want to come to our next game without a reduction anyway.

    1) New manager.

    2) Good break between home games.

    3) Weather is still decent.

Reduced price offers are better when it's either freezing or we are towards the end of the season and it's not looking good.

    I understand you're opinion.

I don't like being labelled f.ckless or be told that I lack loyalty because I couldn't afford a season ticket and can't afford to pay £20 every 2 weeks to watch 'em.

    I don't worry about it

I read Dyson's "jokes" and just shake my head in disbelief. Must be bad being a poor imitation of Dirk.

    for some stange reason

We tend to have done these offers at the back end of the season recently, so people can't come to more games even if they wanted to. Fact is, there's a lot of Barnsley fans out there who have got out of the habit of watching the club play. If we put on an offer that will get them through the gates, particularly when we've just installed a new manager, we may get some of those to come back on a regular basis. If we put on a good performance we'll definitely get some coming back. And it's not as though we've lost out when we've put on these offers recently. The crowds have increased significantly and more than compensated for any revenue that may be lost from reducing the prices.

You'd have to be extremely blinkered and churlish to be against the occasional initiative like the one suggested.

Why did you put a full stop in "feckless" it's not a censorship of "****". Nevermind.

If you're that big a Barnsley fan give something else up - £20 once a fortnight is not a lot of money. It'll be three weeks between the Reading and Swansea game - ample time for anyone to save £20.

    not necessarily

you are assuming that had the offer not been on we would have had 8,000 less fans. I think with it being Forest the crowd would have been higher than 12,000 anyway even at £20

    Staggering arrogance.

    " anyone can save £20"?

Who the fu*king hell are you to say who can afford what?

    Your reputation deepens Jimboy.

Still, it's always better to have an opinion even if it's completely barmy - isn't that right mate, eh?

    Bottom of the league ?

also, so you aren't against the idea of discounted prices just as long as they are at a time of your choice ?

And give Swansea the West Stand...

let them p*ss outside, the West stand should be given to the majority of the away fans, Upper and Lower tiers at the North side. Too well looked after visitors to Oakwell.

thus putting an extra 7,000 x 5 in the till....completely barmy idea wasnt it...???

Lets start a "real fans" club where season ticket holders can throw old Luton away stubs at the great unwashed....

Cryne said at East Dene we had over 10k season ticket holders - uit got a round of applause. Suddenyl against Reading (I think) there was less than 11k including away fans. So are ywe saying only 500 pay on the gate?

I always thought 2-3k would have.

I couldn't give two hoots when deals get put on. I just think there's better times to put one on.
