3, was also 3 or 4 last season under Duff by a couple on here, and plenty more on the cesspit that is twitter!
He's a tit basically, Sunderland have done well to get shut of him and hopefully for them they can get in a likeable manager this time round who knows the game and how to treat people correctly. It's one thing being confident in your abilities, it's completely another to be bragging about how you've wrote book about football tactics, to completely ignore a young player who he's subbed off and then lie about it after saying he didn't see him, blamed the sunderland fans for not taking to him straight away because of his accent and not because he was in fact an utter p***k.
Was only talking to a Sunderland fan last week, he wasn't endeared by the ex current coach . Said some of the stuff he had gone public. Just keep your gob shut and let the results do the talking , like Collins as done.
I think its sensible and possibly even polite for a manager to treat the fan base with respect even if some fans are complete bell pepper ends. Serves no purpose at all alienating fans by demeanour or comments. Regardless of views about tactics etc Keith Hill said things which lost him support. Collins has done nothing wrong in that regard. Good for him.
Spot on. I'll admit I was in agreement with moving Mowbray on as it had gone stale and he wasn't happy in his role and was starting to publicly criticise those above him. I also agreed when we fired Lee Johnson when we were 3rd in League One and that was proven to be the right decision. Having said that, I only agreed with moving Mowbray on for someone better and Beale wasn't. The football was terrible and he literally got everything wrong off the pitch - he criticised players in public, criticised supporters, he said after the loss to Newcastle (which isn't a disgrace I know) that he looked at the bench when we were 2-0 down and didn't think there was anyone who could make any difference so decided against making any changes (we went on to lose 3-0) and on Saturday he publicly embarrasses a player by ignoring his handshake and then lies about it, he had also arranged a training session for Sunday while he had a day off scheduled in. Absolutely the correct decision to fire him so quickly but pretty shocking that they appointed him in the first place as we are led to believe they are meticulous in making these kind of decisions, apparently they aren't!
Sunderland played some of their best football recently under Mowbray. He's been there, got the t shirt as a manager does great with the young uns. Fans have to be careful what they wish for @Spender !
That's a fair comment Helen. It was a gamble but to hand pick the worst possible replacement took some doing. I would say the liquid football of last season pretty much disappeared with Amad's return to Man Utd and we didn't replace like with like.
Don't worry he's coming back unused after another wasted time for him, for sunderland and having left us weaker for the run in, another great decision.
Bit of an interesting turn of events on the Twitters. Looks like some Twitter account under a company called 'Player ID' has been posting and reposting pro-Beale tweets over the last few days. Turns out Player ID is actually owned by Michael Beale!?
