See ya next season. Usually I can think of positives but even when I do our owners will make silly decisions.
I am almost at a loss for words (unusual for me I know). When the dust has settled even the stalwarts will come to realise that this is the worst season for BFC in living memory (I am 68) not because of relegation, results and squad, but the philosophy and business drivers of the current owners. Even in the dark days of the late 60s early 70s there was always the desire to improve, climb up the league, however far fetched it seemed at the time, was always there. You went to each match expecting the team to try their best and most did, even if it was not good enough to compete against bigger better financed clubs. Barnsley has always been a selling club but that never stopped them aiming high. The crucial element that has been extinguished under the current ownership is 'Hope'. If there was a glimmer of hope that they intend to aim high, then there would be some point in BFC existing as an entity. Sadly IMO they have no such intention. Even if they did their record at BFC and all the other clubs they are involved with clearly demonstrates they do not have the acumen or understanding to do so.
Wonder what the resale value of the prize assets is now. I wouldn't give ten bob for any of the current squad apart from maybe the goal keeper.
Including Woodrow one of the most unprofessional professionals I have encountered. Ability but no leadership qualities, heart of a pea and stealing a wage.
Yea...I thought we were poor...very poor under spaceman and paul hart...but totally out of our depth from players coaches and senior management
That's the table adjusted for points deductions. We'd have needed another 18 points to stay up in the purely sporting league standings.
We saved the worst for last. My only saving grace thus far has been the thought that the players are good enough, but have been either badly coached or badly organised or badly motivated. But they're not good enough no matter who coaches organises or motivates them. All hope is gone.
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...ews/west-brom-barnsley-bruce-hackett-23906830 Glad the poor penalty decision was panned by a former ref, even though it makes no difference.
And by Bruce though the article gets the defender wrong wasnt it Oduor that was responsible for the clean tackle
Well, you could argue that it was the catalyst for our collapse as has happened all too often this season. Many games we have been doing ok/ish and the first signs of adversity, we collapse. Perhaps the scoreline might not have so big had the ref not blundered. Not clutching at straws here, just an observation
