RE: The problem with American Football I know - 11:30pm kickoff on a Sunday night - what's that about?! Rest of the season they kick off at 6:15pm!
I Disagree.......... because if it was played earlier there time, it would clash with Ford Super Sunday and not have as many watching.
It called the 'World Series' because the orignial sponsor... Was the New York World newspaper group. It doesn't have anything to do with how many countries compete for it the series.
The game is ***** though.

What about If they just showed the bits where something happened? That way they could fit it in at half time on Ford Super Sunday and everybody would be happy.
So does that mean... it is a daft name and the Amerians actually do think it's a world championship, and that the rest of the world cares?
Heres the reasoning http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_...nd_explanation_of_the_term_.22World.22_Series Probably, at one time, was reasonable because they would be the top team of the baseball world, not quite the case now, the World Baseball Classic last year was won by Japan (against Korea in the final), USA lost in the semis. It is an annoying fact - tonight at the end they commentators will proclaim the winners as "World Champions", same happens in basketball as well. Fair enough....in American Football it's not played to that level anywhere else so they will be the best team, but it's factually incorrect. What annoys me though is people arguing against the sport bring that up as something against it....it's a terminology, doesn't make the sport better or worse though.
Adverts. Every 30 seconds. Be just like watching a game over there. Actually, I must admit I quite like the game. But then again, I'd watch Pro-Celebrity Tiddlywinks.
RE: So does that mean... No they don't. Had this discussion with an American friend, it's just regarded as the name of the tournament, although last year I think about 20 countries were represented by players in the finals. And it does have a growing following world wide - Japan particularly.
All The Hating For The........ sport put to one side. Who do you think will win out of Colts and Bears ?
RE: All The Hating For The........ Not sure really I liked the incisive comment on Sky's preview show from the Miami Dolphins cheerleader - apparently Grossman has to play well if the Bears are to win! Well thanks for that, I didn't realise that so much depended on the quarterback! I think the early possession will be very important, if the Bears defence get in on Manning and clamp down on the Colts offense early, as they did against the Saints, then they will build on that. If Manning starts being able to move the ball early on then that will determine it. All fairly obvious I know but I think the Colts will start to panic if the Bears defence get on top early. I have a sneaking feeling for the Colts in a close game. If the Bears win then I think it will be a rout. p.s. You'd not answered my comment about the warm, almost tropical, climate of Indianapolis!
RE: All The Hating For The........ Well bears have big claws and teeth whilst a colt is fast and kicks like hell... but like Harry Hill says "There's only one way to sort this out, FIGHT"
