Apparently no fans allowed to games in Wales, due to their Covid rules

They are trying to make sure no fans are allowed to their opponents home tie in play offs.

Saying it’s an unfair advantage to their opponents.

Talking to the EFL about it.

hope they fail in their attempts.

Me too. Surely the other games shouldn't have fans either in that case?

While I think it's unfair that Swansea have any say in it, I also think having no fans has done us a massive favour in pressure games this season, so I'd be happy to trade no fans at the home leg of the play offs for more fans allowed at Wembley... hypothetically obviously.

My view is that in England english rules should apply - if they are upset that the rules in a foreign league work against them maybe they should be playing in the Welsh league :)

It makes sense to me that fans should be allowed in both games or neither.

However, it also made sense to me that earlier in the season it should have been the same, when some clubs were allowed fans and others weren't. I don't see why it should be any different now.

If Swansea are denying fans to their opponents Home game (i.e. Barnsley) then no fans should be allowed to any semi-final ties. That would be the fairest solution. Harsh, I know to Brentford and Bournemouth fans, but would only be right imho

During the season some clubs were allowed fans at home games, as Barnsley were in tier three we couldn't. I think that we should still be allowed fans. It's not our problem that they are in Wales.

Ha ha, that’s a very fair point. I think it’s something YT has alluded to in the past.

How can the EFL accept it gives a team an unfair advantage now but not during the season?

Having fans either gives you an unfair advantage or not, so if it’s the case they accept Swansea’s argument that it does then they shouldn’t have let fans into any games during the season until all fans were allowed, if they stop it now it could be argued some points during the season were gained with an unfair advantage.

But we'd be disadvantaged from not having fans at all this season, whereas Brentford say had.

    That’s a bit contradictory. Both can’t apply.

I’d go with your latter point. The football authorities ‘allowed’ some teams to have fans earlier in the year when others couldn’t. What’s changed here? If they caved in to Swansea it would be hypocrisy of the highest order. And you just see that in British life these days.;)

That's my point. In an ideal world I think fans should be in both games or neither, but the EFL allowed fans in some games earlier in the season and not others so I don't see why they should change that stance now.

Manchester United should only be allowed 15,000 season ticket holders because that’s all Palace have and otherwise it would be unfair.
