Nearly every club in the country has been trying to sign a striker this week. They don't grow on trees.

But he was brought in as Academy director wasn't he? Has that position been filled? I don't remember any announcements since Ritchie stepped up to help Hart.

Maybe the coaching at Oakwell is spot on. I don't know, I hope it is. But to the layman like me a coaching set-up of just Ritchie, Holden and Tarmey for the first team, the reserves and the academy looks extremely under staffed. Particularly when you consider that Holden is the first team physio as well as the coach and I believe Tarmey still has physio duties, although i could be wrong.

If Ritchie has been on the phone for the last couple of days attempting to bring in players, as he claims, then who is coaching the first team? If it's Holden, who's doing the physio on the injured players?

Even if he does the whole squad we still look short staffed to me. The three I mentioned may well be superb coaches, but with all their responsibilities they're going to suffer burn out. Ritchie is managing the team, coaching the team, scouting for players and trying to sign players. Holden is coaching the team and doing the physio. Tarmy is coaching and managing the academy and the reserves and doing the physio. Everyone's doubling up, I bet they're chuffing knackered.

He came on pitch when had 2 injuries the other week , cant remember the paticular game

There's also John Lukic, goalkeeping coach a few days a week.

We should sign every player that's available and nobody else should sign any.

Apart from the obvious - like Ritchie wasn't bothered about this player, there's a whole host of other possible reasons such as Swindon is down south and maybe the guy didn't want to move north for a few months
