Well you suggested that I shouldn't post "BS" about you without having met you, but you didn't need to meet those players before posting BS about them (particularly Hassell)

Tbh we all know how hard of a job hecky has got and the restraints he's under.... But hes not immune from criticism and he picks the team, in my opinion he got it wrong.... Nothing more nothing less

The team selection and tactics were poor. The squad Heckingbottom had to select from is also at Championship level poor/not ready. Sensible people will see Hecky trying to make the best of a bad job.

The type of players we have signed is causing selection problems, attacking midfielders ie mowatt moncur mgheehan mallan potts when we don't play a formation 442 that is based on these types of players our recent success has been counter attacking with pace and good delivery from set pieces. 442 needs to go until the players are brought in or can adapt to 442.

Strange we didn't play 5 in midfield yesterday with our lack of options up front at moment . Going to take team time to gell together and for Hecky to get them playing his way .

The idea that Jacob Brown, at this stage of his career, is head and shoulders above our other striking options is the usual youth is always better nonsense. Not that our other options are much good, but It's not yet certain that Jacob will even make it as a professional, he's yet to make his full debut.

However, as far as formation and team selection are concerned, there's a valid point.

Every week this summer we've seemed to sign another midfield player. We've now got ten. Plus the guy from Accrington who we've been told can operate as a defensive midfield player. So I've been really surprised to see us line up playing 4-4-2 this preseason and then again at Bristol. Why do we need 10 midfield players if we're only ever playing four at any one time? I like 4-4-2, if we've got the right players. We so obviously haven't. It did appear like suicide to line up like we did away from home on the first day of the season. Central midfield consisting of a kid playing his first ever professional game and George Moncur who isn't all that sure what a tackle actually is. On the wing, someone who signed a couple of days ago, who played all last season in League 2, and a central midfielder who has looked pretty crap during his time here in his proper position. Sat on the bench is Adam Hammill, fully fit, a genuine wide player, the only experience we've really got in the squad.

The squad is weak, or at best very inexperienced at this level, but I didn't think the tactics yesterday gave us any chance at all.
