    The UK was not invented in the 20th century - it goes back much further than that. Why would splitting it up benefit anyone? Surely we are stronger together and there is more to unite us than divide us. The constituent countries have many devolved powers. The break up if the UK would be bad for everyone

    it kinda was.
    The current UK was created when we gave Independence to Eire (Southern Ireland - Ireland - whatever else you'd call it)
