Taking into account we've been in the market for the likes of Phillips & Eastwood

    Firstly

I doubt 2.5m is anywhere near the up front price. Probably a fair few peformance / appearance related payments
secondly its probably agent / crewe marketting
thirdly I for one would think he would be a risk. Odejayi for instance has produced the goods in league 1 and has yet to do so consistantly in the championship

    RE: Yup

Interest in Morrison seems to have dried up at the moment and he's still without a club. There's a few tracking Helguson and he can be injury prone but I'd be happy with either of them.

    Target, yes. Realistic, no

even if we were willing to match the asking price of circa £2million, as soon as other clubs do the same, we havent a hope in hell, same reason as Phillips, Barnsley is just not an attractive club. I'd love us to sign him, I honestly think he'll be in the Premiership within a season or so, certainly has the ability. He's the stand-out player for me like Frazier Campbell was last season, and if he goes to a Championship club, they will have a real chance of going up.

If we're talking about realistic targets, a million quid might tempt Southampton to let Rasiak go and maybe he could be persuaded that Barnsley is a decent option and stepping stone to something bigger.

Might put a few Polish bums on seats

tall, mobile, scores goals, perfect for what we need imho.

    Macken and Rasiak

with Hume playing off them = top half strike force. Put a solid natural left back in defence, get De Silva and Howard in the middle, starting to look playoff contenders.

Next few days/week are crutical to our season. Get the right bodies in and its looking very exciting. As soon as I read something from Davey that says we're going with what we've got or that Jamal Adam might be the missing piece up front, that'll tell me exactly how realistic we are.

    Even more of a reason

Why he's a realistic target. With the perilous financial state Southampton find themselves in, I would imagine they'd be quite keen to offload one of their higher earners.

    Polish fans can't stand him!

They couldn't work out why Tottenham signed him not long ago.

Not sure 'mobile' would be one of his strong points. Runs like he's in quick sand.

He had his golden spell, I don't think he'll ever achieve those heights again - money better spent elsewhere.
