    I agree.

But not for these macho blokes who think it's from "The" Game Of Thrones. They know nothing.

    They kneel for nobody.

It also probably means you wouldn't be able to get back up again

Can I put myself in the category of I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it because I would find it a bit awkward but would probably do it if everyone else was?

It'd be a real problem for me to get down in the first place, too. Also, my wife has pointed out that I'd be struggling to avoid breaking wind on both occasions!

Really stupid point here but where has this 'kneeling to black people' come from? I thought it was kneeling WITH them

That would kind of ruin the sentiment a little bit wouldn't it

    I think you can yes.

I think plenty of people would feel that way too.

It would, yes. I don't think there'd be an issue with regards to the 2m social distancing, though!

I think he means that someone on a fictional TV show knelt down once so it must have originated there. Likewise I believe Bart Simpson invented the skateboard.

Everything has different meaning to each individual on this planet. I know where my sentiment is in regards to if I ever used that particular phrase. That is that for me, everyone will remain to be equals regardless of colour or creed, until their actions make me think otherwise to tarnish that.

Just because a group no matter how big decide they think a group of words means something in common to them, it doesn't mean everybody has to toe the line and adhere to that view.

You know when it's said that Black Lives Matter, it's just a statement? It doesn't in any way give the impression that ONLY black lives matter. Nor does it say no other lives matter. Just purely that the lives of black people matter.

So why do so many people feel the need to immediately take offence and say "all lives matter" or "what about white lives"?

Only Black Lives Matter - that would deserve complaint.

The weird thing is, it's merely a statement that says black lives matter. They 'matter'. Not that they're important, or better, or more deserving. Just matter.

And yet to many it's like a red rag to a bull.

    And why?

    Because they're threatened.

I'm waiting for some numbskull to post Lee Hurst tweets next. Or the views of Katie Hopkins. In fact, I'm surprised nobody has started a thread about her removal from twitter yet. Because her overt, far right racism shouldn't be silenced. Probably.

I'm not threatened when I hear it or offended. I just feel that it is quite harmful toito the cause in that it masks the true problems.

If the slogan was different certain people would still find something else to hang onto that would be " harmful to the cause"

You either accept that racism is still prevalent and needs addressing urgently or you dont.

Thing with Katie Hopkins though is she’ll at some time make a statement about lynching a paedophile (spelling) or a mass killer or summat and her comments are plastered all over social media with she’s bang right in this etc,
As if they couldn’t quote somebody else more amiable with same views .

Would you kneel before the Queen but not in support of black lives matter?

In my opinion anyone with that attitude is a grade A tw*t.

But where are you hearing that black lives don’t matter? I genuinely don’t know or associate with a single person that believes black lives don’t matter. We are once again stating the bleeding obvious to any right minded people, I.e the majority. We have a history within our own football club where some of our black players are revered and some were considered ***** in equal measure to white players.
I do however have an issue with this blind love of American goings on where a racist ******* has killed a citizen in the name of the law and subsequently protesters in London are acting feral towards our police officers who stand perplexed at what exactly they’ve personally done wrong. Never mind the potential to spread a deadly disease that threatens not only their own communities but the people who until recently they clapped on a Thursday.
We are not Americans. The way to beat any racist cancer in this country is to go down the route of hounding your local politicians or the law to the plight of any wrong doings you witness.
