RE: You've just made that up! You must have have had a ham salad on a scuffler before or is it west yorkshire thing ?
RE: Scuffler I used to have scufflers as a bairn. Loads of flour on e'm. Not seen one for years mind.
Last time I had this debate, I lost a day of my life ... .... I'm not wasting another. BTW .... no such thing as a bread cake. Teacake = no currents. current teacake = teacake with currents.
Its a breadcake... ...unless you are gay, in which case perm anyone from muffin, teacake, balm or bap.
RE: Aye wi' currants in. Reight toasted. nt Yes and thats y we call those ones current teacakes, so the ones without currents in are therefore just called teacakes
its a batch, cob or whatever they want in the midlands but it will always be a TEACAKE to me to me a batch is a parcel of things to deliver a cob is getting a sweat on which a lot in the midlands know nothing about
erm Teacake...slightly sweetened low density bread, no currants. Current teacake..as above avec currants Cob..small crusty roll Breadcake..what I'd expect a burger to come in. Bread in the shape of a cake? Oven Bottom Cake...Large diameter, flattened dense breadcake, strangely cooked at the bottom of the oven. Ideal for full breakfast sandwiches...
What ever you call em if you are in scotland and ask for a sarnnie (sandwich) thal get sliced bread..
