It was Burnsey that caused the 1st goal on Sat.

I didn't used to rate Burns...

but I've become a bit of a fan after last season, watching as him and Reid shored up centre mid allowing the lightweights of McP and Shuker more space out wide.

If ANYONE makes FA use of a ball, it's McP, when he gets it (despite this "undoubted ability" he possesses) he just lays it off 10 yards to someone else to make the "telling" pass. Now, as he never puts a tackle in, I'd expect a bit more. Burns does the 10 yard thing AND can tackle. Is he our best midfielder? Well, from where I'm stood, we only have 3 - Burns, Kay and Tonge (Reid in defence). So, as Tonge's back to RB, I make that at LEAST 2 midfielders we're carrying this week.

I would pick Burns over Wroe.

I just dont think that Wroe is diabolical.

Weve had far worse players than him.

I think he shouldnt be in the team either. However I think Wroe is more likely to get a goal than Burns and win equally few tackles.

are you sure you're not mixing him up with Shuker?

Burns doesn't score cos he's HOLDING the midfield. It's his JOB. It's what he's TOLD to do (anyone who's seen Burns shoot - Blackpool H, Bristol C away) will know the boy has a cracking shot and would LOVE to get forward.

Thus, sir, you may add "disciplined" to his list of attributes.

That is one attribute, he is disciplined.

He is not good enough to be a holding midfielder.

Its amazing this game how different people see different things in players, I suppose that is just how it is.

Looks a decent midfield to me that you have picked, I would just swap Kay and McPhail. I think Kay in midfield has the greatest goal threat and can play further forward and allow Kell to do the holding role.

Honestly JT he is the business. He has a physical presence and a calmness and a Redfearn type shot.
Will probably score between 3-5 goals per season.

I mean, if we weren't arguing in the East Upper over who's s*** and who isn't, there'd never be owt said.

It'd be right boring if we had a team full of Mad Tom Williams's, ie, EVERYONE agrees he's shocking. Maybe the ref comes close!!!!

Equally and opposite, I've yet to read anyone explain why they think Shuker is a good player. THERE'S a player who "runs about alot". Yet many of us see nothing in the fella (along with 24 Championship managers, I dare say, now he's re-signed for us). Add McP an' all...it;s official, we only have em cos no-one else wants em.
