Team v Huddersfield

Do we have any other centre midfield options at the club? any under 23 players who are actually midfielders who can deputise until/if Kane gets fit again this season? I'm just not a fan of Halme in midfield at all. He's clearly a centre half playing in there and his touch isn't great. Having the ability to control a ball or find a simple pass can make all the difference in a game,

I'd stick with Palmer if we've nobody coming through the youth set up but the rest of the side I'd go with. Though personally i'd favour Walton over Collins, but thats not going to happen given what Collins does, even though i think Walton is the better of the two when it comes to shot saving.

 

I don't know who is coming through. If Kane was fit, I'd start him, just seems that Palmer isn't in the best form at the moment, so not sure how good it would be for him to be chucking him in every week.

Generally agree on Halme, but in the absence of options, I'd put him in, but just let him be what he is. Win his headers, break up play, but give him a let off when it comes to his shortcomings. He needs to master the hook over the shoulder...

 

If he can't trap a ball very well, mastering the leg hook is going to be well out of his comfort zone. I'm guessing Ismael is happy with what he's got, I'd expect there is a callback in Christie-Davies' loan agreement.

 

True. And not sure what clauses there are in ICD's agreement, no idea if he's even playing at the moment, or if he's any good.

To be honest, in the absence of Kane, if Palmer isn't playing the next best option to play there is probably Sibbick. But can't see that happening now he's established himself in defence.

 

Agree re Sibbick. But I think he's even more crucial to be in the defence to have a bit of pace now teams have sussed the high back line a little. I can't imagine the carnage with Sollbauer there.

 

Yep. If it was the 23rd game of the season and not 43rd, I'd put Williams in the back three, where he played well at the start of the season, to give the option of Sibbick in midfield as a back up option. But it would be too much messing at this stage of the season.

 

I would like us to try something different by going 3-5-2. My line up is
Collins
Sibbick,Helik,Annerson.
Brittain, Oduour.
Halme,
Mowatt,Palmer.
Morris,Woodrow.
Styles is below par,Dike needs a rest. A slight tweak to the system to get control of games,teams have worked Barnsley out now. The players 'are' good enough to play in a different way.

 

Palmer has struggled lately. I think he needs a rest.

 

I think maybe if I was at the ground watching I might appreciate him more, but I sort of agree with you.
