When my grandad died, at his funeral, there was one line in the eulogy, one line that stuck in my 12 year old head and breaking heart, "Bob always saw the best in everyone". People loved my grandad. Everyone did. When I'm home folk still talk about him. And I know why, because of that one line at his funeral. Because he saw the best in people, and so people saw the best of him, and he was the best of men. It's the one thing I've always tried to live my life by, and I hope I can pass the same gift on to my daughter
Similar thing with my grandad. Hence the post earlier. He'd spent 2 years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp but still came back minus a couple of fingers but full of hope and judged everyone (even the Japanese) on their own merits. It's like when people slag the NHS off on here. When he was dying my grandad was in the Barnsley General he said to me we built this lad me and my dead mates and it's bloody marvellous. Did anybody hear that Nicky Campbell interview with an English Jihadist on radio five this morning? It was a very disturbing and chilling interview and shows just what our security forces are up against.
No, I was too busy reading about the grisly details of Rolf Harris' padedophilia and Oscar Pistorius' trial.
