Tension building on the kop!

Could be right but I'm only going on that photo, Fleming wasn't the tallest and Preece was a bit of a shortarse and he had close cropped light hair from memory and I think Hughes had black hair ......sithi.

 

The Luton player is much further away than Fleming, so you can't judge their size, but the hair is the right colour for Preece.

Dunno, according to the Rothmans book I'm looking at both Preece and Hughes played that day but Preece was no.11 and Hughes was no. 10 and those were the numbers each player had for most of the season. But I can't vouch for it being right. I was at the game that day but I remember next to nothing about it.

 

Aye those shadows on the pitch look more like March. Must be the bank of the terracing making them look shorter in the OP pic. Lovely day for March going by the lack of big coats.

 

Everyone has brought their coat but they've all taken them off and piled them up on the barriers.
