That buffet style Thai place upstairs in Meadowhall has been recommended loads of times by people. Ive not had chance to go myself but its supposed to be really nice. Its called ChaoBaby I think. If you want a proper Thai restaurant I don't know. Last one I went to was the one in the Eastfield Arms that's now a carvery.

if you want Chinese though. London Road in Sheffield is the way to head. Pretty good restaurants/noodle bars around there. The Japanese ones are good as well, although pricey, if you fancy a bit of raw fish.

Not really good ones in Barnsley. The ones we usually go to are Baan Thai on London Road sheffield or Sukhothai in Leeds on South Parade just off the Headrow. I prefer the Leeds one and plenty of pubs nearby. Only 5 minutes walk from Leeds train station.

Tappenyaki in Leeds is a great night out. Fantastic Japanese food all cooked fresh in front of you. Definitely recommend it.

Chaophraya in Leeds is a brilliant Thai restaurant. Been there loads and never disappoints and it's probably one of my favourite restaurants. It's even better now since they acquired the downstairs.

It's opposite BiBi's in Leeds if you know that.

There's also http://www.sukhothai.co.uk/ and http://www.thaiedgeleeds.co.uk/ which both do decent food. Not as good as Chaophraya though in my opinon.

There's a Thai in Osset that I've heard loads of good things about but not been to yet. Also one opened in a pub in Denby Dale but not sure if it's any good or not.

Yeah this is a great place to go for Teppenyaki and quite entertaining also. They do a few tricks etc while cooking your food. There's also The Hop next door for a few drinks before/after.

Oh yeah forgot to mention, Chaophraya is part of the same company as the Thais Buffet in meadowhall although the restaurant food is way better.

Oh and there's Vera's cafe in darton if you want some cheap, cheerful and tasty Thai food during the day. (Do takeout on a weekend I think)

Open Kitchen in West Melton do have some Thai options on their menu (takeaway). I thought they were linked to the restaurant that used to be Draycotts on Shambles Street.

I'd second that. Chaophraya in Leeds is excellent. Never had a bad meal there and is one of my favourite restaurants also.

    Cheers for the recommendations.

The old people have opted for weather by whaler.

Quite good but on third or fourth time it's evident same stewed mains. Worth it of get vouchercloud 2 buffet and 2 lagers for £20. Chicken curry soup amazing. Mains a little hit and miss but for £10 with a drink it's good

Malagor in Ossett. Absolutely gorgeous. Been half a dozen times and it's been lush every time. Check it out on TripAdvisor
