The op defended the actions of DC to great extent and prejudice .
Without ever coming on in defence of the policy before D.C. in which hundreds had been fined for some not a tenth of the distance DC travelled to Barnard Castle.
His actions were wrong as had been confirmed by Durham Constabulary
Our Ptime Minister has defended his actions whilst condemning ordinary citizens of doing similar which is putting DC above the law .
The OP has defended this decision and tried to pass it off as party politics and looney lefties etc even though dozens of Tory MPs have also condemned him.
His moral and lawful arguments were inaccurate and posters were putting their evidence and views as to why that was the case .
His defence of DC was tribal and not moral or factual.
He started posts knowing his views were controversial and would evoke passion and anger given what we have gone through, who we have lost , and sacrifices made .
His flounce has put into perspective what type of person he is and he’s gone to hide in his proverbial fridge,
I haven’t seen any posts threatening him but I can’t seem may I e seen every post or thread .
But the anger is real and he didn’t seem to grasp it so imo he hasn’t suffered as some people have.

 

He’s have had a much nicer time in here if he’d treated this board how it’s meant to be - as a discussion.

He regularly posted views that go against the consensus - no problem with that - but then he got offended and combative when anyone questioned his views, asked him a clarification question or had a laugh and joke, making comments like “this is my thread, if you want to disagree make your own” - that’s not how a forum works and that’s the reason he had a unfavourable time on here.

I post things and cringe afterwards and look at my alerts to see whose quoted me. Then I get a sweat, go bright red and sometimes don't pluck up the courage to read the replies for a few hours if I think I've been a tw at. Mostly when I'm drunk posting. (Which I know you shouldn't do).

but there is bullying on this site -

if on a political thread you don't 'Bash Boris' and the Tories - don't 100% support labour policies/leaders - happen to be a Leaver - hate Trump - you will be abused and bullied - usually by the same posters.

Most of those who don't toe the BBS Fans Forum party line don't actually post on the political threads - they have been bullied off them.

I was a Leaver - the response to any message I posted was usually abusive and bullying - called a racist, Nazi, mentally ill, daft etc. (check back if you don't believe me.)

I got 2 PM's - one calling me obscene names - one threatening violence.

 

I voted leave and Conservative. I wasn't bullied off those threads. I just agreed with a lot of what was being posted against the government and couldn't argue against it. Hence had nothing further to add.

I have in the past took quite a bit of flak over being very pro Scottish nationalist, anti Tory and royalty. But to the credit of those on the board who hold an opposite view (you know who you are) I not had any feeling of bullying or intimidation. Yes I got a lot of opposing view points and some shot holes in my argument but never had me changing my mind.
Tbh it’s a chat forum and if you don’t like it tough just deal with it.
We all have an opinion.
