    So Brum an Burnley are prepared to lump on him on the strength of 2 league games and one friendly ('cos I don't think he's been exactly high profile up to now). I'm sure there are better known, and therefore lower risk players they can spend their money on. For that reason I'm staying optimistic!

    To be fair Fi, there's some substance to the Burnley link. I posted a tweet from their version of Matthew Murray in the other Shea thread.

    I like the look of him (only saw the Blackpool game, to be fair) but I think RNL could play that position anyway. Hope he stays here, mind.

    Brek is already established here and is practically guaranteed to play,if he goes somewhere else he's to start all over again,at Burnley he might not even play regular.His sole aim this season is to play as many games as he can to play his way into the USA squad and his best bet for that is to stay here

    If he stays here he'll play every game and be in with a shout of going to the World Cup, would play all the time at Burnley?

    He wants regular first team football in order to play his way into the USA cup team. He won't get that at Burnley for certain and Birmingham will be no better for him than us - if he has got any sense, he will stay, otherwise he can say bye-bye to his World Cup hopes.

    He'll be on the same money whether he goes to Burnley, Birmingham or stays here. He's got a contract with Stoke that we're honouring while he's with us. Burnley or Birmingham would do the same.

    Whether he stays will, imho, depend on whether or not he likes it here. If he does I would imagine he'll stay. If he's not that fussed then he'll probably opt for Burnley. Well, that's what I'd do, be part of a promotion chasing side and experience some of that glory. I wouldn't blame him if he went to Burnley, but I don't think it's a given. It'll depend on how much he's enjoying it at Barnsley.

    Having said that, Stoke might have a say too. I doubt we're paying his entire wage, we're probably paying a percentage with Stoke picking up the remainder. If Burnley or Birmingham offer to pay a bigger percentage then Soke might advise him to go there. Or order him. It's then up to us to match that.

    We'll see. Hope he stays, he looks to have something to me.

    None of that will make a difference when he's sat on the bench week after week. Burnley will only want him as cover. Birmingham want him because he ripped them to bits by all accounts.

    Now I've slept on it, im almost certain he'll be here for the season
