That new lad at right back just pumped it aimlessly down the line when he came on - constantly - whether there was a red shirt there or not - and 90% of the time he overhit it too.

well I say right back, or maybe he’s a wing back, or a winger - or centre forward - as every player we buy seems to be a utility full back/ winger/ centre forward. We’ve some brilliantly adaptable players if they can play all these positions.

 

He'd not get near Birmingham side, but they've spent 40 million..... But two of those sides were L2 last season, he'd get in squad there. Hudds have a past his best Tom Lees in today, he's nowt special...

And neither you or me could even name orients CBs, he'd get in there too I'm sure. A good coach would get a tune from him. We all rated him last season when we saw him, don't remember anyone ever saying he was L2 level last when he stepped in, but now all of a sudden he's garbage.....

He hardly played last year, you know he wouldn't even be starting in our 11 if Roberts was available and we're 10th, I'll wager he's released at the EOS and doesn't end up in a L1 team tipped for top 6

 

Admittedly I’ve not read all this thread it’s tough to coach poor players but our coach or coaches need to adapt and get the best out of what they have got. Unfortunately the head coach carries the can for all the other coaches. I don’t see us getting the best out of our players

The decent players we have, have gone backwards. The rest of them have made zero improvement. He's stripped the squad of whatever talent they had and whatever enjoyment they got from playing. To a man none of them look like they want to be out there.

Unfortunately that comes back to the head coach and to a lesser degree, his staff. I'm not a knee-jerk 'sack the manager' sort, but why persist with something that hasn't, and clearly isn't, going to work. He simply cannot manage us. For that, he absolutely has to go.

He didn't. He's better now than he was then but still a liability.

 

Heard all same comments about others mate like Cosgrove. That's he's L2 level. Wouldn't get a game at athersley rec etc etc. but where did he end up? Stockport, above us in table.

These players, like Pines haven't just magically become useless overnight. He has his flaws but with the right man in charge he'd be very good at this level.

 

Yeah I’m not travelling 240 miles anymore to watch us get rolled over by average teams week after week anymore.

 

Duff made 1 change at half time. What did Clarke do to counter- sod all. I dont necessarily mean subs but I didnt see any changes in our structure/methodology/application either until the damage was done. Too many waiting for things to happen instead of making things happen. We had a negative mindset from the kick off at halftime and thats acoaching issue for me.

 

Hudds were dire 1st half. They were roundly booed off by their own fans.
Every one of us knew there would be a Town reaction 2nd half. Except the 11 in red shirts.
They roughed us up well before equalising. The rest became a formality.

It is a terrible squad. We have tried who aren't good enough and players who should be good enough who don't try hard enough.

And I could go on. The VAST majority of this side was here under Collins and finished in the top 6.

The January recruitment of strikers was terrible, but Farrugia and Gauci look decent enough so far. Especially Farrugia.

Fans were desperate for experience in summer and they added that. Stopped signing just kids and got best player from L2 in DKD and and proven L1 player in Humphrys but yeah course this squad is just ****.......

All those huge clubs like Reading, Stockport, Leyton Orient must have spent millions that I missed to surpass our squad and fly above us in league. Same with Blackpool etc.

Squad has a couple of bits that need sorting but it's nowhere near as woeful as fans make out. It is just being mismanaged and made to look woeful.
