The seats being there incase needed is fine by me. However I do agree with you that Mill**** fans should have been put in the west stand last night.

    Re: To complete the picture

So to summarise you cant provide much basis for having a 23,009 capacity ground thats never been full and an away stand thats left empty for the majority of the season.

Suppose we'll just go on the rumour off here that it didnt cost any extra to put the extra 1500 seats in and extra rows of concrete.

Quality debate mind, its what keep this board ticking, we are on here to put our views across.

What do you mean never been full? It's been full a few times. 23,009 isn't our capacity anyway, it's the number of seats but we aren't allowed to open all seats.

Would it actually save the club money moving 100 people from the north to the west stand though? There is a bar in the north stand for away fans, none in the west is there? If that is correct then the amount of money the club can demand from lindley's catering would be lower if we were to start telling them their bars have to remain closed because we're putting fans in other parts of the ground instead.

Wouldn't it cost more to police the west stand which would have in it Barnsley fans/players family/academy lads/whoever it is who uses it and away fans in the same area than it costs to stick them in their own stand?

Would there be much of a saving when the north stand still needs to be operational due to the changing rooms and offices etc being there?

What exactly are the savings? Same number of turnstyle operators needed and same number of stewards just in a different place. The only cost saving I can see is lighting because the west lower is open to the elements and the north isn't. However wouldn't it still needs it's lights on for health and safety of ball boys having to go into the stand?

Scattering the fans in a giant stand so you can't hear them definitely improved the referee's performance yesterday

12 of those 161 Millwall fans were from Featherstone on freebies watching Martyn Woolfood :)

My dad went and sat in Millwall end, said the few that were there were crackers

    Re: To complete the picture

Its never been full at its current capacity, highest attendances:

    11/03/2000 Manchester City 22650
    08/03/2008 Chelsea 22410
    30/12/2006 Sheff Wed 21253
    13/12/2003 Sheff Wed 20438
    14/09/2010 Leeds Utd 20309
    12/12/2009 Newcastle 20079
    27/10/2009 Manchester United 20019
    28/04/2007 Leicester City 20012

Chelsea wan't a sell out, the home end was but they returned tickets so anything less than that attendance can be discarded, leaves only the possibility of Man City being sold out. Away supporters receive 5,800, only 200 seats are lost to segregation. I can't remember at the time Man City game being announced as sold out in the Barnsley end.
