And yet in the 2nd half, he let Norwich set up a wall at least 2 yards closer than it should have been and just marked out the line without even any attempt to count it.

Just watched the Huddersfield v Bristol City highlights. Our old friend Mr Stroud from the Ipswich and Fulham games up to his usual incompetence. Last man through, keeper deliberately handles outside the box. Only one decision to make, a no brainier red. Why was there a reason to consult with the linesman (who looked like the guy who flagged Isgrove offside v Walsall in the play off semi)? And how they come to decide on a yellow I'll never know.

The ref is a part time postman in Northampton. His son goes to the same school as one of my grandsons. In fact one of my other grandsons who was at the game knows the ref well and tried to speak to him whilst he was warming up.

Feel sorry for the good people of Northampton. No Christmas pressies for them, the wnaker will miss the ******* letterbox.

It doesn't get much better for Tuesday by the way. The incompetent who missed/ignored McFadzean's double assault on Sam at Burton is currently slated to ref at Swillsborough.

Also a point on saturdays ref I forgot to mention. He gave a free kick on the edge of the area which was never a free kick in a million years (he seemed to give many as soon as a norwich player jumped down throughout the game) he then counted 11 steps for our wall to stand behind all our players were complaining about this luckily the free kick came to nothing.

Well one thing he did well was an excellent advantage after Scowen was fouled before the 2nd goal. But he didn't seem to be strong enough. Norwich players were constantly running towards him demanding for action. One even seemed to headbutt him late on, but not a single yellow in the game!

The only thing the FA are concerned with is how the ref handles the situation choose how wrong his decision making / interpretations are.
I can't think of any other reason they would keep employing these plonkers.

It wasn't an advantage though, as he was never going to give us anything all game.

I don't watch Barnsley with rose coloured specs on. Yesterday, as many times one of our large groups of mates brings a mate who is a solo away fan or neutral. I wouldn't have it any other way. Post match insights always good. Neutral fan this week said ref was spineless & bullied by Norwich.

I didn't see it as him playing an excellent advantage, I saw it as him taking the easy option. All too often referees will keep their arms by their side and give no signal at all but then after quite a few seconds he puts them out to signal that he is a wonderful referee who has played advantage. In my opinion they do it solely to appease the crowd. If they were truly playing advantage then they would signal it straight away they wouldn't wait till large boos from the crowd ring out

I agree he was bullied but it was an advantage because he signalled for an advantage!

No: Referees wait a few seconds after a foul to see if play develops, as it did for us then. When Scowen got fouled Bree got the ball, and went on to cross it in; but if the ref has signalled advantage straight away and say Bree had given it away, we're not getting any advantage. It's not an 'easy way out': if he had given us a free kick then we probably wouldn't have scored from that free kick and may not have won the game. If you take your viewpoint then Referees can never win even if they make a good decision

Did anyone else think that he didn't actually mean to blow for full time at the end? I'm sure he was giving them a free kick against Hammill (and was reaching into his pocket) when we all cheered and he looked confused for a minute before shaking one of their player's hands.

It was a bit confusing and I turned round and said "Have we won then?" I was half expecting him to book Hammill for picking the ball up and hoofing into the top tier of the stand.

It had gone four minutes that he originally added on. He must of just thought "**** it I've had enough, what do you want me to do norwich put ball in net for you"
