Ah, just listened to the This Woman's Work single before The Whole Story. i think I have all her singles digitalised now, although there may be one or two tracks missing. Listening to most bands' work usually sees them peak in the first couple of albums and then drop off after that when they run out of ideas (the Oasis effect, lets call it), whilst Kraftwerk are the perfect band for watching them get better each album until they hit their peak with the Man Machine (for which I have the English language and the German language versions to look forward to!). From the album they did as Organisation (Tone Float) through the early ones you can hear improvement with each album. Most of the Ralf und Florian album is great, but it takes a leap forward when you move on to Autobahn. Anyway, just remembered the Kinks, which will put the KLF back by a few days. I try not to look at or think about what is coming next, so I get nice surprises occasionally.
Am intrigued by the app (not the point of the the thread I know) What's the app called? Thanks in advance.
The one I use is called Freedi player. You can make playlists of up to 200 videos and play them randomly. Get yourself an adaptor, plug in your hdmi cable and you have yourself a video jukebox! Only problem is you can't charge the ipad up at the same time as connecting it to your TV, so just make sure there's plenty of battery life left before starting it. Occasionally some of the videos will drop off the playlist as they're removed from youtube, but otherwise its a fab app. The record companies seem to be relaxing their stance too, as many of the 'official' videos on youtube previously couldn't be played on the ipad, but they seem to be working now. When you're up and running search for toppop. It's a European (Dutch I think) type of Top of the Pops and has loads of really good performances that you won't have seen before. The bands didn't always take it seriously either. I can't remember the song, although it may be Duchess, but there's a good Stranglers one where they all swap instruments, with Dave 'singing' and JJ knocking **** out of the drums.
Have you seen the new Beatles themed vans? Just frittered away 50 quid on some yellow submarine ones.
