So why go then if you're gonna be bored? The same boring negative football is exactly the same as your same boring negative comments If you don't like it then i suggest you stay at home and watch Soccer Saturday. Well that will be more exciting watching Jeff and Kammy won't it? Boring negative football - boring negative fans - boring negative football - boring negative fans - shall i go on?? Oh, i wonder if you cheered when Macken scored or did you just sit there being negative and bored?? Methinks there would have been a cheer
It wasn't great I'll admit- perhaps you're overreacting but you have a point
Donny were there for the taking last night and we simply didn't go for it.
We competed in the first half but with only Macken up front we needed JCR, Disco and Hume on form and getting forward. They just didn't do it enough and we didn't get the 2nd or 3rd which would could have gone for without risking too much defensively.
Then in the 2nd half, instead of addressing that, Davey seemed to retreat even further, sitting back, taking off Hume, playing Odejayi up on his own. It could (and perhaps should) have cost us our victory. That game was crying out for Hume and Macken/Ode up front, 2 wingers and 4-4-2. We'd have absolutely murdered them imho.
Davey is far from the acomplished manager he thinks he is. But credit where credits due, we won. But i'd saythat was asmuchdown to Donny's ineffectivness as our own tactics.

I can agree with that, I've seen plenty of **** away games, but then if we can again become unbeatable at home (which, isn't impossible) then that'll go a long, long way to keeping us up anyway. I still think we can get the odd decent away result.
In all fairness there'll be plenty of teams who are much worse than us at home, and much better away so it'll equal itself out. Judging on what I've seen this season I don't think we will go down. Get a goalscorer and I think we'll be ok
All that said, I do wish we wouldn't always seem so negative when we're away, we're at our best when we attack with pace and numbers, granted away from home that has to be slightly changed so we're not vulnerable at the back, but I do think 4-5-1 is unnecessary

Donny are the only team in this league who are worse .... ...... than us in the 'putting the ball in the net' department, that's how/why we beat them, they were totally **** and so were we
Tbh i'm just glad we won, got 3 points, got an away win, and with any luck gives them confidence away from home. Lets just wait till saturday shall we.
Thing is- Saturday is a chance to really kick on against a poor Charlton
We could go there, win, and really kick start our season.
But if we go there setup anything like how we did last night we'll lose. We need to adapt our play to the opposition- I'm not saying we should go to Wolves and play with3 strikers, but when a team's back is against the wall we need to get at them.

RE: "had we a goalscorer" No, that's very true, BUT we are creating a fair few chances now, something we didn't always do last season. Hume will score more than Howard did
He may do... But he's a striker, Howard was not. Macken scored a few last season, more than he'll get this year, and Grant McCann got more than Anderson and Colace will put together all season. The problem is that we only have 2 players who look like scoring something from nothing, and that's JCR and Hume. Yes Macken'll get a handful when put on a plate like last night, Devaney may get 3-4 eventually and the defenders may chip in a few more. But the chances are we'll need to score another 40 goals at least from now to the end of the season just to stay up - can you break down where you think 40 goals will come from with the current squad?
I go because i am a barnsley fan, smeone who wants to see the team improve and get beter not someone who goes and just sits there blindly cheering and clapping no matter the calibre of the performance or the managers tactics. Fact is we are ****, league position does not lie. Charton will beat us on sat of that i have no doubt but i will still be there, just because i dislike the manager and want him out will not stop me supporting my club. I honestly think we will go close to being relegated this season as long as we keep him in charge, week in week out nt includingderby games we have been poor, i se no improvement in our playing style or results from the day he took over. I do see an improvement in the calibre of the squad but if they aren't performing whos fault is that, 1 man and 1 man only.

I see it now After all these years I have finally seen what being a Barnsley fan actually means. If only I had supported the team like you all this time. They would have been much better I'm sure.
Have you ever thought....... about actually GETTING BEHIND the team and not constantly finding things to have a go?? If you know we are going to lose on Saturday you must me a prat wasting all that money just for the sake of it
i agree totally. i put a similar post on last night and was described as negative and anti davey. totally incorrect. the 2nd half last night was woeful. appalling, and showed a complete lack of tactics. against a decent team it would have been embarassing.
No-one cares. Everyone has their opinions. It's not fact, its opinion; by their nature they can be right or wrong.
